DON'T get it all done
December 18 2001, 3:00 PM
To be fair, I have gotten a lot done, but I gave up ages ago feeling that I had to do everything for the holidays....so....well, I just barely sent out Christmas cards (as in yesterday) and only managed to get to the post office today. We can't do any Christmas shopping until my Hunter gets paid Thursday (wow, we have never been this late before) and all my family is coming down from Phoenix for a celebration on Sat - thank goodness it's at my mom's; I had volunteered my home!
Let's see, oh yeah, just one holiday party for my son, my Hunter's work holiday party (I'll just wear what I wore last year, if it fits! LOL). Oh, and my elderly aunt insisted since I have this week "off" that we should go see Ocean's Eleven. Hmmmm, right, then to top it all off, tomorrow I have JURY DUTY - like I really needed a day to get absolutely nothing done!
So, although I've done some baking, and my mom and I got our acts together and made the Christmas tamales early so they are now ready & waiting in her freezer, we still have no presents, my kids have nothing to wear to church and the dust keeps piling up on my shelves because I'd rather bake than take care of it!
Oh, well, Whisper, you shall survive! I just figure if Mary could manage making the trek to Bethlehem 9 months pregnant, only to find that Joseph hadn't bothered to make reservations - and remain serene after the birth of her Son, I can tackle anything!

*what was that serenity prayer again????

Well I've got most of it done now - actually 99.9% done (stop throwing things at me!!!), but I've gotta admit, I'm running on empty right now. Finishing up a book relegation in here (2000 items), which means being resigned to having spent three weeks getting filthy every day, lugging around heavy boxes of books so I go home with sore arms, AND sore feet because I'm on them all day. And I'm soooo tired. All I want to do this Saturday is zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz
As for the Christmas stuff:
Presents: check, all done
Cards: check, almost all done
Mailing: check, almost all done
Flat cleaning: check, all done bar the vacuuming and washing the bathroom and kitchen floor.
Party thing: nope, don't do it. So far, resisted four of them, mostly at work, but one at Church. Had a little party at Casa da Kendaa last night with Fayee, Klio and a friend of mine from work who knows us all and that was lovely.
Rude Christmas crowds: check, I'm SO OVER THAT.
Tired huggles,
Kendaa

You won't be included in the Jury if during the questionning of prospective Jurors, they learn you are attending law school & want to be a lawyer.
I'm sure you already knew that!
hmmmmmm, a party this weekend, & I know your home addy <snicker>
I mailed all my Christmas Cards today. I don't open my Christmas cards til December 25th, does anyone else wait.
Considering it is summer time 'down under', how is it possible to get the Christmas spirit when everyone knows Christmas is during the winter?
HOwever living here in Arizona, I can only look at pictures of that white stuff falling out of the skies, snow? What's that?
And don't let Mallenia try & tell you that it snows in Tucson!
You make me feel as though I might actually succeed!
And, Mallenia, "Oh, well, Whisper, you shall survive! I just figure if Mary could manage making the trek to Bethlehem 9 months pregnant, only to find that Joseph hadn't bothered to make reservations - and remain serene after the birth of her Son, I can tackle anything!" That may just be the quote of the season. That may actually be what gets me off my duff and provides me the courage and strength to get things done! LOL!
Thank you everyone!!
Shhh,
