One week ago I came home from watching the local high school musical. There was an e-mail from a Xenite friend that had an attachment. Her message was simply "I don't know if you have seen this terrible news" and the attachment was the announcement that Kevin Smith had died from his injuries... even before I opened it something told me what I would see.

It has been a week of sharing grief with internet friends, searching for news, reading and re-reading the tributes and the memories, and feeling bewildered and sad.

It has been an unbelievably long week.

I still can't quite believe that it's real.

I keep thinking that I'll see some announcement of some upcoming con appearance or movie or something...

An unbelievable week. My heart is hurting so much. And I still can't find the words to convey how I'm feeling. I don't think I ever will.

I wish there was something I could do. For the family, you and other fans - I mean more then just - oh I don't know, just something to try and ease this a bit. This is soooo hard, especially this feeling of helplessness. Feel like my hands are tied and I don't know what to do.
