Wonderful story! My Parents have a similar one from many years ago when they were camping in France (I was but a baby, so this was probably '64-'65). Stranger walked up to their camper (from literally nowhere mom could notice, they were parked in a parking lot/car park) and asked for a cup of coffee to put into his mug.
Mom took his mug and the guy dissapeared. She washed out his mug and decided to fix him some breakfast (he had looked like he could use a good meal). Just as she had gotten his plate made up with scrambled eggs and all, he reappeared!
He sat and ate with them (I don't remember what they talked about) and after they were finished, she filled his cup with more coffee and and then she took the empty plate back into the camper to clean. She turned to see if he wanted to take any food with him and POOF! he was gone again! She looked out the windows and all around for him and couldn't see him anywhere. Remember, they were in a parking lot and it should have been very easy to see him leaving across the lot. He was nowhere.
I don't know what the significance of this was, maybe just to see if my parents were christian people. But I know there are angels/spirits/spirit guides out there and they look out for us. I even know the name of my spirit guide!
Anyway, I'm getting off the subject. I don't know what Base she is on, however, tell her to check into the Hobby Shop on base. If she is interested in any kind of hobby, it's a great way to meet new people who share the same interests. My mom took my brothers and me to the hobby shop when we were stationed on Clarke AFB in the Phillipines in the early '70's and she learned to paint in oils there (and still does today), my brother took up lapidary work (and is just now able to be getting back into it, he was 13 when he started), I don't remember what I did. I remember my mom and I going to the hobby shop working on ceramics. She eventually made an entirely hand made manger set of ceramics and painted it all herself. this set is now probably more than 25 years old and I consider it an heirloom.
Anyway, I thought my stories would help!
Luv,
Cass
