"The Great Shamrock Race"

This is the name of our story. This is the base of our story. Now, where you all decide to take it is up to you. How long you want the story to go on is up to you.

She stood at the entrance of a stately manor wondering what in the world made her think she should even try at this house. She looked around, nobody. She listened for sounds, nothing. Finally, she pulled up her spine and rung the bell.

DINGDONG DINGDONG DINGDONG DINGDONG

"Oh dear heavens!" Kendaa was taken aback when the doorbell chimed like church bells. She groaned, "I definitely should not be here."

The door to the manner opened, and a maid stood in a starched (ankle length) maid's uniform looking for all the world as if she were expecting her. "Please come in." She nodded toward the foyer. "The Miss is in the parlor."

Kendaa's eyes were like golf balls in her head. What was going on here? She shrugged and followed the maid into the parlor. When she entered, she was struck by the beauty of the place. Yellow and white seemed to be the dominating color theme, and it was clear that no expense had been spared in the decorations. She longed to reach out and touch the silk wall coverings and had almost managed that little faux pas when a figure in green rose from one of the beautiful leather chairs by the garden windows. "I'm so glad you're finally here, Kendaa." She nodded to the maid, "That'll be all Whisper." "If you would have cook send in a little tea, please."

Kendaa took a small step forward, clutching the reason she was there in the first place. "How?" "Who?" "I don't understand." She stuttered.

"Oh, don't be so surprised. I know most of what goes on around here." The woman smiled. "I am, afterall, Cassopeia of the Forum."

Kendaa staggered. "Cassopeia!" She exclaimed! "I thought..."

Kendaa was too embarrassed to continue with her thought, but Cassopeia wasn't. She giggled and said quite boldly, "You thought I was a myth?" "I'm not surprised." "I make very few appearances nowadays." "So, are you going to show me what you've brought?"

Kendaa stepped forward. Cassopeia patted the leather chair across from her. "Please sit, and do call me Cass."

Kendaa sat in the other leather chair, almost melting in the butteriness of it, and she opened her case on the table between them.

Cassopeia gasped, "It's been years."

Kendaa pulled out the dark chocolate Tim Tams first...

Seeing that Kendaa had brought TimTams, 'shana wasn't about to be left out! She came out of her hiding place to announce her presence, but before she could say anything Cass said, "Ah 'shana, glad you decided to join. Please, have a seat."

'Shana, standing behind Cass, looked at Kendaa. Kendaa looked at 'shana. The both shrugged. 'Shana came around and sat next to Kendaa.

"How did you know I was there?" 'shana asked.

"There is much that I *don't* know." Seeing the confused look both their faces, she laughed. "You'll understand. In time." Reaching for a TimTam, Cass said, "Now, where are those drinks?"

Then, as if on cue, in came the drinks. There were enough drinks there for maybe 20 people.

"Are we expected to drink all these?" 'shana asked in horror.

With a bit of a smrik, Cass answered, "If you want to drink them all, help yourself. But I thought your friends might like some refreshments as well. When they too decide to join us."

Kendaa and 'shana again exchanged a look. How did she know that there were others lurking around this area?

The muffled squeal was accompanied by a loud thump and a cloud of dust as Fayee fell out of the air and landed in the middle of the three other Amazons. She grinned up at them, bounced to her feet and dusted herself off. "Sorry - hope I'm not late!"

Cassopeia of the Forum waved her hand airily and smiled graciously. "Of course you're not - perfect timing as always, Fayee - help yourself to a Tim Tam and a drink!"

'shana and Kendaa were left goggle-eyed as Fayee took up the invitation and made for the goodies with a speed that would have left the Roadrunner gasping for breath in her wake.

"Astral travelling makes you hungry," she told her friends around a mouthful of Tim Tam.

"Ahhh," said 'shana and Kendaa in unison.

"Make yourselves comfortable and settle in," Cass told them. "We have things to do, places to go and people to see, and you're going to need all your strength."

"Huh?"

"Huh?"

"Huh?"

Three bemused voices chirped in such unison that Cass had to smile.

Before anyone had time to actually verbalize any questions, Elara, Eeyoraus, and SheElf popped in from the garden, "Don't do anything without us!" They chimed in unison.

"We wouldn't even consider leaving you out." Cassopeia of the Forum smiled at the newcomers. "Please, have some Tim Tams, Elara." "Eeyoraus, would you like some tea?" "SheElf, thank you for tying up that donkey-thingy of yours. I appreciate your thoughtfulness."

The gals looked at each other out of the corners of their eyes, concern and questions lining their brows. Wike was just bringing in more tea, when she noticed their confusion. "Excuse me, but you do know whose house this is, right?" she whispered. The girls shook their heads. "Cassopeia of the Forum." Wike whispered again and then scuttled back to the kitchen (like a good cook ).

"Cassopeia!" The girls all gasped.

"WELL, WELL, WELL!" Sounded a booming voice from the hallway. "It's been a lifetime!" Lasermn appeared in the doorway to the parlor, Whisper following him trying and failing to get to the parlor ahead of him for the announcement. "CASS!" He cried. "You look ravishing!" He grasped both of her hands in a friendly squeeze and then, like a magician, a bouquet of beautiful carnations appeared before her. Lasermn went in turn to all of the birthday girls, presenting each with her own lovely bouquet. "And for you, little missy," he said to SheElf, and he handed her an additional bouquet of hay for Lasercath.

Before long, the impromptu party was in full swing. Wike had produced additional sweets, hors d'oeuvres, mint tea, and her special margueritas. Before you could say "mint julep", the manor was arockin'! 'Shana was standing at the top of the stairs in the hallway singing Delta Dawn at the top of her lungs, Elara was blowing bubbles onto 'Shana's head, and Lasermn was chasing SheElf with his pot stirrer!

Kendaa and Fayee had had their fill of Tim Tams, so they were line dancing and trying to show Eeyoraus their patented sumo-boobie-lady moves. E was picking it up pretty quickly, but kept having to stop to pick up her Mardi Gras beads (those babies were bouncing right off!)!

And Cassopeia was having a giggle fit on the floor by the margueritas.



Wike and Whisper looked at the group and winked at each other in agreement, it was just about time to call in the troups....

LMAO!!!!!!!!!!! I love it love itlove it:):):)

I will add to it but too busy and too tired to think of anything tonight. Just keep some of those white chocolate Tim Tams for when I get back and Kendaa - lay off the kirsch!!!!!!

Well, I thought this was a lovely idea. Thank you Birthday Brats for trying to make this special for everyone. So many birthdays, such a difficult time for so many forumers, and a way for everyone to be involved...

I'm just gonna say,

The whole idea of doing a Round-Robin was for EVERYONE to join in. Not just some of us.....

I hope your mood improves soon. I don't think I want you writing anything with me in it right now! LOL!

Having sung Delta Dawn until she was almost hoarse, 'shana decided refreshments were in order. She grinned as she made a beeline for her everpresent backpack.

Wike~ and Whisper saw her grin and looked at each other. They knew that grin.

As they turned back to see exactly what mischief 'shana was up to, they heard the room quiet down a bit as more people started paying attention to the fast moving Amazon ....

Reaching her backpack, 'shana not only yanked out more film and batteries, but a jug of moonshine, several bags of blue corn chips and a big bottle of Texas picante sauce. She continued to grin.

A shudder went thru the room. That picante was sure to be hot, and the 'shine was sure to be raw.

"Ya'll ready to really party?" 'shana bellowed.

Fayee looked at Kendaa and Cass. In unison, they whispered ... "Discord's Evil Twin"...

OHMYGOSH!! I'm still laughing!!!!! I'll have to get back to this in a bit, have to go home now!

Just then lasermn snatched at the bottle of ‘shine in the sweaty hand of Discord’s Evil Twin. “Wait a minute here,” he managed, struggling with the petite but mighty Amazon. “ Please, allow me to serve - it’s only proper! Don’t you know who I am???”

Cassopeia of the Forum moved swiftly between them, allowing lasermn to finally grab hold of the bottle. “He’s exactly right, fellow Amazons. It’s only fitting that the Towelboy be allowed this one privilege.” And with that, magically, some mason jars appeared on a wooden crate overlaid with a red and white checked tablecloth. Though the make-shift table looked unusual within such luscious surroundings, it seemed to fit the occasion - and the beverage.

Elara and SheElf were the first to “belly-up to the bar” and have at the blue corn chips and picante sauce. “Wowsa!! That hot sauce really is hot sauce!” cried Elara, who proceeded to gulp down the ‘shine to ward off the heat from the chips. Big mistake - she wasn't sure which burned more the sauce or the shine. “waa-errr! Sssss haaaaah!”

SheElf, munching happily looked over at her obviously suffering friend, “what’s the problem?”

“waa-errr! Sssss haaaaah!”

Eeyoraus, sensing what was wrong, promptly grabbed Elara by the hand, lead her to another room, just as beautifully adorned, and pops the cork on a bottle of champagne. “This should take care of the heat from that picante sauce! I think it’s the strawberries floating in the crystal stemware that does it!”

Just as Elara was putting out the fire in her throat, she heard a distinct sound. . .
