Well, about 21/2 years later, it's another San Francisco Convention.

I'll never forget that evening we first met. I was so damned nervous. Then Kendaa walked up to me and it was instant wonderfulnous.

I'll be thinking of you guys, Kendaa, 'Shana, Cass, Whisper, Ares Writer, Bastet, Shamba........

and all the wonderful people I met the weekend I started this crazy adventure into convention fandom.

Saturday we'll be at Plouf. And the first toast will of course be to absent friends.

And there will be one very special toast to an absent wonder of an entertainer and a man.

And, I suspect, there will be tears.

I still wish I could have gone to that one. Money was just too tight. Of course I DID manage to get to Pasadena & Hartford, both of which were a blast.

Creation's Xena Fan Club's next issue (Chakram #18 I think) will be an all Smithy tribute. I emailed Sharon about possibly doing a one-time-only release of it as a stand alone for non XFC members & haven't gotten a reply. As much as they've done for the Kevin Smith Trust recently I was surprised that I've not gotten back any response - you'd think they'd jump at the chance to do more positive PR stuff.
