THE 'OTHER' SIDE OF KEVIN SMITH

CHARITY FILM FESTIVAL IN BRISTOL (UK)

As many of you may be aware, the world recently lost Kevin 'Ares'
Smith.

This is a day in his honour, showing much of the non-Xena work he did
and raising money for the charity set up in his memory.

____________________________

Date - Saturday 21st September, 2002

Venue - Cube Cinema, Jamaica Street, Bristol, UK from circa 10 a.m. to
about 6/7 p.m. Possible evening venue to follow.

Cost - £3 per person until 1st June
£5 per person from 7th June
(a few days' grace to allow for postal hiccups!)
£7 per person from 1st September and on door
(if there are tickets left at this stage)

There is an absolute limit of 110 tickets in all, as this is the
maximum
capacity of the cinema!

Feature films:-

Desperate Remedies
Jubilee
Channelling Baby
Love Mussel
Old Scores

Maybe one or more of the Lawless (detective series) tv movies

Charity auction

I have some Xena stuff and a heap of general Sci-fi/fantasy items.
The
proceeds of this will go to the foundation set up in Kevin's memory.
Other items welcome, but please let me know if you intend to bring
something IN ADVANCE <g>.

As this is a private function, there are no restrictions on the age of
people attending, as long as I make you aware that there is a
substantial amount of adult material to be shown and one classified 18
certificate.

Maps of central Bristol will be available on request. The postcode of
the cinema is B52 5EN if you want to use an online mapfinder search
engine. There is a YMCA, a YHA and Bristol Backpacker's as well as
many
B&B's and hotels if you need an overnight stay.
Try <visitbristol.co.uk> for accommodation and touristy things to do
if
you wish to make a weekend of it. Again, I will supply copies of
lists
of hotels, etc in Bristol only on request.

Getting to Bristol - Good main-line links by rail (Temple Meads
station), main bus/coach station and road (M32 link to M5 and 6).
Airport (Bristol Lulsgate) to south of city and linked by dedicated
coach to aforementioned central bus station, a few minutes' walk from
main venue.

**************Other important stuff************

I know someone who signs for the deaf and hard of hearing. If you
would
appreciate such a service during the live-action events
(opening/closing
ceremony, auction, announcements), please indicate this and I will do
my
best to secure her services.

***********************************

SO - Send your £3 per person, either cash or a cheque (made out to
Mrs P
Chapman) post-dated to the 1st June with two SAE's, to:-

P.O. Box 3250 GLASTONBURY,
GLASTONBURY,
BA6 9WL
(Somerset)
(U.K.)

If you are not a UK resident, send £3 cash, two self addressed
envelopes
and IRC's or equivelant to cover return postage. Don't send stamps of
your own country - the Post Office won't accept them <G>.

I undertake and promise to keep all your cheques/cash in a safe place
and not touch them until 1st June. If I have acheived sufficient
interest to cover cinema hire, etc by this time, then and only then
will
I bank your money and send you your ticket(s). If there is not
sufficient interest to make this day viable, I will simply return your
money/cheque in one of your envelopes and send the spare back with it
too.

Now it's up to you <G>.
