agree! Professional baseball, the "family game" is soo expensive, no family can afford to go as it is! The players are ridiculously overpaid and the owners are making stupendous amounts of money besides. The only ones getting scr*wed are the fans!

Right now my hubby is in Chicago - to see the Cubs play (he goes yearly) and he was so disgusted at even the talk of a strike, he almost cancelled (but he had paid for everything beforehand). As it is, he says he refuses to go back next year!

I feel bad - AZ finally has a neat team to watch, but I can't see supporting them.

Those SOB players are buncha overpayed, self-centered, arrogant, spoiled brat jerks, and don't even care about their fans. :P

That's why I'd rather go to a Minor League baseball game. At lease with the minors they care more about the fans. I went to a minor league game, and it was so much fun. They had all kinds of fun stuff for the fans and especially for the kids. They have these big characters in balloon type costumes, and they dance around waving at the fans and playing games with the kids and all sorts of fun. Go Lakewood BlueClaws!

Heh... I almost didn't even open this thread cuz I thought maybe y'all were a bunch of baseball fans supporting the players! While I have been thinking for years that pro players (in most all sports) are way overpaid, making ticket prices too high for someone like me (public school teacher). But I see I am not alone...

That's what makes this hurt. It's not just anger it's hurt.

I've got FIVE "Croix de Candlestick" pins. That means that I have endured FIVE extra inning NIGHTTIME in the freaking cold fog EXTRA INNING games at the 'Stick. I have watched them in the playoffs and the series, enduring a freaky earthquake in the process, watched them win and lose and for what? To have these (*&)(*&*()&&)()_(*)( threatening to strike not over salaries because god knows those are freaking high enough but over ROYALTIES????


ROYALTIES aren't even freaking RELATED to the game. Sheesh at least SALARIES (outrageous as they are) are tied to the damn game.
