lol
further update:
It finally stopped pouring down rain the night before the funeral. The sun came out. The funeral went ok ... a lot more people came than we figured on. That was nice.
A lot of people remembered me from previous get togethers. (All funerals, unfortunately!) And I got lots of hugs. I really felt accepted - yeah they've known me for a zillion years, (and his family likes me) but this time it was mostly just my Hunter's extended family there - and that's way easier for me than previous events where there were a lot of people that I didn't know and who didn't know me. I kinda really stand out (lol) in a crowd of my Hunter's relatives but they don't care.
And a really nice thing happened - one of them decided it's bad that we all get together only for funerals, so he's putting together a reunion this summer in Dallas... that should be fun.
We hung out with the family for a while, then zipped by and saw my mom at work. She was thrilled to see us, and had to show my Hunter off to everyone (Rarely does anyone get to see him in a suit and tie...)
We went back to my sister's and had dinner. Yum. She loves to cook. I'm surprised I didn't gain weight...
Sunday started off warm but then got cold. We went to an indoor outlet mall near my sister's. It was fun. I got a doormat for my friends who have dogs .. it says
"Beware: Dog can't hold it's licker!"
Because Chiquita does 'drive by' lickings!
Monday, My Hunter went with my sister's Hunter to go get the papers that this place has put off giving us. They got them, but got caught in the sleetstorm on the way back. They got back just fine. Me n my sis shoveled he driveway so they could park ol' surefooted blue there.
It sleeted all Monday afternoon. It went to 19F on Tuesday and started a weird mist/drizzle thing. Didn't get above freezing till Wednesday afternoon- and then refroze Wed night. People were stuck on highways for up to 20 hours.
Needless to say, we stayed put. And had a great time eating (remember, my sister loves to cook!) and yakking. I borrowed warm clothes from my sister. So she's 6" shorter than me... lol ...
So we came back Thurs afternoon. It was slow goin thru Dallas, but fine after that.
My hunter pulled the bad hard drive and swapped it for another drive. Then put the bad one in as a second drive. He then installed XP Pro, and POOF! I'm back!
I still need to add a bunch of updates and software before I'm gonna be ready to attemp to access the bad drive...

I read recipes the same way I read science fiction. I get to the end and I think, "Well, that's not going to happen."
