Font doesn't need changing - I can do that here.
Short story on vision. I'm nearsighted... very nearsighted. Which isn't a problem cause I've worn contacts for-ever.
Rewind to Tulsa last year. I'm up front, on the floor takin pics of one of the Andromeda actors. Someone walks in front of my camera and startles me (I've got the zoom lens on and it was very startling!

)
I manage to pop out my right contact lens ... never to be seen again. I make it thru the weekend and drive home with my glasses.
I call my eyedoc for a replacement lens. He says it's been two years since he's seen me - I have to go in. He's almost 200 miles away, round trip. But I liked him alot last time I saw him.
I go see him. He gives me a thorough eye exam. I drive home.
A week later my new contacts come in the mail. (I needed stronger lenses in both eyes) Left one is fine. Right one has a film that won't go away no matter what I do.
I have to make that 200 mile round trip again. Doc says the film is something that protects the lens and he washes it in something and it comes off. I'm not familiar with that film and I have worn contacts for a very very long time.
I drive home and realize that the film may be gone but I still can't read the licence plate of the car in front of me....
I get home make another appointment.
I make the trek yet again. This time he's decided the contact lens needs to be even stronger. (Just a quarter of a diopter) He orders the lens.
I go home. A week later the new lens comes. I send the old one back to him.
Distance vision seems ok ... but what's this? I can't see anything clearly that's closer than 3 feet away or so with my right contact! (Left one is fine)
I make the trek again.
He says I need reading glasses because the new right contact is so strong. I tell him that my vision feels unbalanced he says I'll get used to that. I haven't yet.
I buy over the counter reading glasses ... which sorta work. But the computer gives me headaches. I go back. He tells me to use different glasses for the computer. And changes my (still unfilled) new glasses prescription to progressive lenses.
So. 6 trips to the eye doc, and I'm wearing my old glasses more than ever.
Now the company that makes my contact solution has pulled the protein cleaner off the shelves so I get protein deposits which make my eyes itch. And the right contact still keeps getting cloudy.
And on top of everything else, I have a new sensitivity to light and glare when I wear my contacts - I want to wear my sunglasses even when shopping at brightly lit stores like Home Depot or Fry's. Or when I'm in front of my computer.
In the end, I can only surf online for 15 min or so at a time before my head starts hurting because of eyestrain.
I'm trying to wait till we have insurance before going to a second doc...
