Tonight I decided to go to bed with my tape of Young Hercules in the VCR (Kevin Smith is deliciously attractive in it). When I put in the tape, I got the snowy screen that means you have to clean the heads. That took a long time, because my cleaning tape seemed to be bone dry even with the drops in the little hole, and I ended up tinkering with spreading the cleaner drops directly on the dry ribbon in the cleaning tape and running it about five times before I got a clear picture.

Anyway... to the question... Do I dare put Young Hercules back in a VCR or do I assume it was the cause of the dirty screen and throw it away?

Geez, I don't know. I think I'd put a tape I didn't care about in first, just in case there was gunk on the heads, and then I'd try the Young Hercules tape...

I am NO expert, though!

Yes, I did that, and the screen is playing my Harry Potter tape just fine right now.

But I am wondering if putting Young Hercules in again will make it go bad again?
