Kinda feel like I slipped off the equator again!
In the past 6 months, we sold the house, moved to an apartment (yes, all 6 of us) and started building our "dream home". Plan is to finally move in by the end of this month! HALLELUJAH!!
Meanwhile, loving the job (I'm a prosecutor) - but working 60 hours a week. It's just paying dues, by the time I move up (within 6 mo. or so is the plan) it'll be back to more normal hours. I really love being in trial!!! Tho' this week, a simple two-day trial got stuck with a hung jury, so off I go again, to try it the second time around!
As for family - DH is loving his job, and thank goodness it's more flexible time-wise than mine. My oldest (daughter; don't think she ever made it to any of the cons) decided that now she is 18 - so off to California!! No job; no nothing! Gotta give her props tho' - she had a plan (even if Mom and Dad were none too keen on it). So, she's working, signed up for school, and basically is doing things the hard way - like instead of staying and going to a local college. Oh well. . . how dare my young, strong, independent-minded daughter use these gifts against us!
The boys are great! My oldest son (he came to a couple of cons) will be a senior next year; says he wants to do something with his art (comic strip style, anime). I'm kind of excited for him. And the two youngest boys are just that - "my boys"! I guess I'll be faced with the whole empty-nest thing soon enough, so I really cherish them!
Anyway - I miss this amazon bunch here!!! Because of the apartment, we just have a stool at the computer, shoved in a corner of one of the bedrooms; not much comfort. Once we get in the house I can come and play more...I wanna visit GeekU too - so if anyone asks, I've been occasionally lurking at Whispers!
