Happy Fourth of July to Americans and happy day to the rest

July 3 2005 at 9:00 AM

Hi group.... let's keep the messages going...

I am off for the Fourth of July. There will be fireworks here so I will stay around to calm my bizillion cats.

Waiting to see "Empire" which my parents failed to record for me on Tuesday... so I have to start in the middle. Gag. Anyone see the first two-hour ep???? I am a real Romanophile (I just made that up). How was it?

Has anyone heard about the miniseries coming in the fall about Rome on HBO??

What else is going on??? How's everyone's summer??

more later...

^-^

Happy Independence Day, y'all!

I am off until August 1 when teachers go back to work. I re-read all five Harry Potter books to get ready for the new one coming out in two weeks.

It's hot here on the Texas coast. Real temps are about 100 with the heat index between 105 and 110. Last night the LOW was 78 degrees. We call these "three bath days" in my family 'cuz we hop into the bathtub often to rinse off and cool down.

Local Fourth of July parade in my town still features kids riding their decorated bikes, and free watermelon at the park after the parade.

If you are traveling, I hope you stay safe.

Happy day to you guys!

Hope you have a lovely holiday weekend - or are having a lovely holiday weekend :D

Bastet, that sounds like a WONDERFUL series! The ancient historian in me is bouncing up and down :D Hehehe. Hope we get it sooooon down here!

I'm recovering from the most wonderful weekend. Laurissa, her sister and I spent the entire day yesterday at the Everywoman Expo in Perth, which is THE largest expo for women in the world. It was BRILLIANT! Started out in the ginormous arts, crafts, collectibles and antiques section (I SO wanted one of the 1950s teddies. He was only $10!), then on to the Everywoman section which had just about everything you could possibly think of relating to and of interest to women. Then there was the wedding area, and the baby area. Oh, and the most wonderful fashion parades! We had a blast! Mind you, my feet and legs aren't gonna recover fast, LOL!

Happy Independence American sisters!

Kendaa:

Sounds like a great time you had at the women's expo. How neat!

Quiet around here. Will watch the fireworks with the parents and my niece and her husband. They will be arriving from Carson City. Spent the weekend with my brother and his wife.

more later....

Thank you! We had a lovely fourth. It rained in the morning, so the evening fireworks displays were perfect. The air was not too hot or too cold, even the humidity had burned off by then. My daughters, husband, and I were joined by family and neighbors to see a brilliant and huge display over one of the private lakes around here.

This summer has been crazy. Three of us are finally home from the cheer camps. Doug didn't go ( ). I went to Annie's cheer camp with her, as I am a coach. Emily went to two camps back to back (hers and Annie's; she's a squad assistant to Annie's squad), so she was exhausted. Right now she's in Dallas, TX, for a yearbook camp (I'm not excited about her flying home...). Annie will be heading to Colorado Springs, Colorado, for grandma and grandpa camp next week with Doug. I have to stay home to work, take care of the pets, dog sit the neighbor dog, and get Emily to swim practice each morning. I'm not terribly sorry; going away is always more work than staying home.

I wish we could all get together for a spa week! Wouldn't that be fun? Just gabbing and sharing and lying around and getting massages and gabbing some more and watching old favorites and sharing some more!!

Shhh,
