| I can only pray for the frightened and grieving in London, but I will and do pray fervently. I feel their pain, and I too am scared. What hurts them, hurts us. We are all human beings. We have all been targeted by this insane evil.
Please give up a few seconds today to think of the innocent who are suffering.

although I think they're more defiant than scared. This is the city that survived the blitz, the IRA bombings and so much more. I feel so bad for them. London is such a wonderful city, and the people are really lovely. May the families of the dead find comfort and peace and may the wounded heal, both physically and mentionally and emotionally. |

Yes, it's true, ye ol' Brits are strong. They're my people, and more than just geneologically. We've talked about this before, Kendaa, when you posted those pics from your vacation, remember? I'm sure I've walked those streets in your pics, but when? It's all so strange to know a strange place so well.
Anyway,
The faces of the people immediately following the bombings were just like the faces of the people immediately following the Twin Towers collapse, frightened and shocked. Strong and determined though they are, they are still human. I applaud the way they've all come together. I think Tony Blair has done a wonderful job of leading the way. The wounds will heal, the memories will fade, even the broken hearts will begin to hurt less or less often. Maybe those stiff upper lips will help those wounds to heal faster.

There were an axious few hours for me before I could get a phone line to the UK and check my family. All ok thankfully, and all except one email to friends are accounted for. I think they picked the wrong city if they thought they would spread mayhem and panic!!!
Having been there during the IRA bomings, I have to say if I had to be anywhere for an emergency like this it would be London I felt safest in !!!

that the British are a tough people but I agree that no matter how "use to" this you are, it is always a shock to have this go on. I fear for them now that they will be hosting the Olympics.
more later... my prayers go out for the people of London and for all who are related by blood or friendship.

by how calmly the Londoners handled the situation and just
carried on. Very stoic!
Which reminds me, I must write my friend Ollie to see if he is OK.
Hope your one email comes back with good news, fayee!
