Is there nothing

August 16 2001, 2:54 PM

that this man cannot do? He's so .. ahhhhhh!!!

Oh to be a razor in his hand! Would it be possible to be a razor with a tongue (who said that?)?!!

Shhh,
Whisper

Shamba

Ouch!

August 16 2001, 3:59 PM

that's kind of ouch looking for him. For us, however, well,... is there anything this man could do and he wouldn't look good doing it???

I hope he has hair again if I get to see him here in Oct. However, I don't think that anyone would object if he showed us what he looked like without all his texture. WEG

Keith is gorgeous but Kevin just has that come hither look no matter what he's dong!

Kendaa

LOL!

August 16 2001, 4:10 PM

Me, I'd like to be that shaving cream! I'm thinking he must have felt like a prize dork sitting for that top one, LOL!

Shams, yeah, he has that come-hither look even when he's just standing innocently doing nothing! LOL! I was reading a really long, in-depth review of the old 1951 Marlon Brando movie of Streetcar last night. Stanley is such a brutish, animalistic, violent character. No redeeming features at all, really. It's going to be interesting watch what Kev does with the role. I have absolutely no doubt at all that he's going to be brilliant though.

Excuse me, I have to make a correction to my above post

August 16 2001, 4:18 PM

I should have written "doing" instead of "dong."

I will NOT comment further on this; however if anyone else does ... feel free ... :D

Shamba

<sigh> Shambanonymous again

August 16 2001, 4:19 PM

admitting to my culpability in the above correction.

I've had a very long day ....

LOL - I was sorely tempted to comment on the dong thingy, but with great effort zipped my lip! LOL!

Whisper

Dong da dong dong DONG!

August 16 2001, 6:00 PM

LOL! I know it must've been unintentional, but maybe a was little freudian as well?

Shhh,
Whisper

Shamba

Freudian??? OF COURSE!

August 17 2001, 10:45 AM

Totally and completely!

Unconsciously (somewhat consciously) Lascivious,
Shamba

mallenia

omgsss!!!

August 18 2001, 9:56 AM

He is just GEORGEOUS no matter what he does! sigh

Except, is it me, or does he look much, much slimmer? Not that I mind...well, I DO have a passion for more muscular vs. less muscular men...then again, it IS Smithy we're talking about here!

Kendaa, congrats on the tickets - I'm so envious! You must report back - in intimate detail!

mallenia

Lil

OH MYYYYYYYYYY

August 18 2001, 10:10 AM

GULP

Uh.......I volunteer to help with those suds....:o

Lil

Kendaa

Yep...

August 18 2001, 5:50 PM

I promise to do a detailed report I've booked my airticket now too. Next is the hotel. I can't believe it's happening! Yeah, MM, he has lost weight. He said he did that for the play too, because Stanley is around 30, anyways, so he needed to look younger. I really like the sculpted muscles though - that's our boy!

And Lil, yeah, absolutely anything to do with that lather would have me in a lather

Shoshana

whoooowheee!

August 18 2001, 6:27 PM

Phoenix ... ready or not!

Thank you Kendaa!

have you heard whether Smithy has actually confirmed for Phoenix?

'shana

Kendaa

Haven't heard...

August 18 2001, 6:31 PM

'shana. For all the sakes of all the Smithsonians, you included, I soooooo hope he does. I think he will, though. Because I'm thinking he finishes Streetcar on Sept. 29, and it's such a "heavy" role, he'd probably be glad to get away and just be himself and do something lighthearted for a bit, eh? Could be wrong, but could be right too! LOL! And you make sure you get LOOOOOOTS of pic, 'shana!

Shoshana

LOL

August 18 2001, 7:28 PM

Like I'm not gonna take a ton of pics... LOL LOL!

'shana

Kendaa

Hehe

August 18 2001, 7:42 PM

Hope you get to boss him around again too! LOL!!!

AUGH!

August 20 2001, 7:02 AM

Whisper, you can't put the words "tongue" and "razor" in the same sentence! It's givin' me the willies! I keep seeing that scene with Steve Martin shaving his tongue in "The Jerk"... eeeewwww!

Whisper

This is a GREAT article!

August 26 2001, 2:39 PM

Thank you so much! I just think he's so funny! Did you see how often they mentioned that he is heterosexual? Hello? Was there any question of that?

Shhh,
Whisper

Kendaa

LOL - yeah

August 26 2001, 3:52 PM

It is a lovely article, and it's very clear that he's approaching the role in a highly intelligent manner. I like the way he says he's not concentrating on the rage in S. but looking deeper to the things that are making him be like he is.

Maybe he asked the journo to emphasise that because he might have been getting propositioned? LOLOLOLOL!!!

And what about that PHOTO!!! WOW does his muscles bulge...

Kendaa

Shoshana

yowie Zowie!

August 27 2001, 12:23 PM

Off to buy MORE film for Phoenix!

'shana

Kendaa

LMAO!!!!

August 27 2001, 1:42 PM

{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{'shana}}}}}}}}}}}}} LOLOLOLOL!!!!! If he's in a sleeveless top, I can just see you sitting there, throwing your head back and howling at the top of your lungs, LMAO!!!!!

Shoshana

howling?

August 27 2001, 6:23 PM

shy little 'ol moi?!?

I'll let you know... <EWG>

'shana

Kendaa

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!!!!

August 27 2001, 6:27 PM

Running now LOL!

Kendaa

DOH

September 1 2001, 4:38 AM

I gave Whisper this url yesterday and remembered I hadn't put it up here when Leanne from Kiwi Attic sent out an email tonight. I bought it from an online Kiwi newsagency this time, but here you go!

http://www.crosswinds.net/~kendaa/Articles.html

First two articles are from NZ Fitness

Nice pics of Kev and two lovely articles that just prove (as if we needed it) what a lovely guy he is

Shamba

oh, thanks a lot, Kendaa

September 1 2001, 12:03 PM

for putting these two articles up. They're very interesting. Who's the man whose picture is circled in the group shot? His agent?? Mr. Bruce? or ?

My goodness, what a routine he has. And only 6 percent body fat for the play?? That's might lean even for a lean man! However, i"m sure it looked really good!

He's a smart guy, too. Nice pics especially in the second article.

Kendaa

Yer welcome, Shamba

September 1 2001, 2:42 PM

They've been up almost a week now, I think. Just forgot to tell you guys. The circled guy is Clive Green, the owner of the gym, and the guy crouching in front of him and Kevin (big solid guy with white hair) is Kev's agent Robert. Yeah, they are lovely pics, eh?

That pic with the group is from another article in the mag on Clive.

Kendaa

This is so kewl!!!

September 1 2001, 9:06 PM

In 1997 Gary McCormick had a dream! It was to bring together the eight finest, wittiest debaters in the country to open the Christchurch Arts Festival. After successive Festivals, this dream has become a steadfast Canterbury tradition, the Festival Big 8 Debate on the opening weekend of the Festival. The Christchurch Town Hall is the lion's den for this gladiatorial event in which reputations are won and lost, and wit is put to the sword in the cut throat contest that is the Festival Big 8 Debate. On the affirmative team is the redoubtable Gary McCormick, accompanied by Michelle A'Court, Kerre Woodham and Kevin Smith, determined to strike a few blows for the recreationally challenged.
Might as well make this thread the official Kev update thread

On July 20, Kev was part of a team that took part in the Christchurch Festival Big Eight debate. Read on...

To negate and defend the sporting man's honour is the captain of the winning teams in 1997 and 1999, Jim 'lucky' Hopkins from Lyttelton, with side kicks Phil Gifford, Ginette McDonald and Tom Scott. These two well-armed teams will fight it out to the bitter end, with the winner taking away the Champions Cup. To add to the festiveness of the occasion, the A.K. Grant Memorial Trophy for Best Individual Speech will be up for contention. This was awarded to Tom Scott at the inaugural A.K. Grant Memorial Speech Competition during the Otago Festival of the Arts in October last year.

******

And guess what? KEV WON THE TROPHY!!!!!!
