Hercules has a little he-man on his hands.

Kevin Sorbo and his wife, Sam, are celebrating the birth of their first child. Braeden Cooper Sorbo was born Wednesday in a Henderson, Nevada, hospital. He tipped the scales at 7 pounds, 8 ounces and measured 20 inches, according to Sorbo's publicist, Deborah Grimes.

The 42-year-old muscle-bound thespian shot to fame as the hulking, frequently shirtless hero on the syndicated hit Hercules: The Legendary Journeys. He hung up his sword in 1999 to take a starring role in Andromeda, a syndicated sci-fi series based on an idea by late Star Trek creator Gene Roddenberry.

His 34-year-old wife, the former Sam Jenkins, is an actress who appeared in such indie flicks as Ed and His Dead Mother, Twenty Bucks and The Crew. She also had a recurring role as a resident on CBS' Chicago Hope.

Sorbo and Jenkins met while shooting Herc in 1995. She made several appearances on the show as Serena.

They married in January 1998.

I have seen "Ed & his dead mother" and "20 bucks" I don't remember her being in those. But then again, they were both pretty forgetable movies. LOL!

But I'm glad that things went well and that mom and baby are happy and healthly. I always like hearing happy news like this.
