| The BTHL rules say that with 10-12 teams, the league will consider dividing into divisions. It appears this is done automatically, without any consideration from the teams involved. The result in Bantam A is we play the same 4 teams 4 times each, rather than playing 9 teams twice each. Certainly playing more teams would increase the chances of playing a few games against the ones we are evenly matched with. For both the strong and the weak teams, it will get very old beating up or getting beaten up by the same teams throughout the year. The standings so far indicate that is the situation. At least let us play the broader schedule, so we aren't getting bored with the same opponents. Why is this issue not put to the teams involved? Everyone I have asked would gladly accept a little more travel (although, it is actually a very small increase!) to play a wider variety of teams. |

If you're from Dayton, Cincinnati or Indianapolis you're correct; there is very little difference in travel. If you're from Findlay, Fort Wayne or Louisville; the difference is substantial. Until last year we automatically split at 10 teams, now we split automatically at 12. The Bantam "A" teams that were most vocal in August wanted multiple divisions this year. | |
