*Lord Halifax rode along the road from New-Moncton to Tyrsis. Despite the increase in bandits these days, he still didn't have any guards as he was confident in his combat abilities and had good reason to be so. Along the trip he sensed something just off the road.

Against his better judgement he got off of his trusty chocobo and walked into the brush, his hand near his sword. He wandered the woods for a little while until he came across what looked like a stone altar in the middle of the forest. Curious, he walked up to it.

It was simply a slab of stone jutting from the ground with various arcane markings on it. However, he recognised these markings as those of the famed Dark Sword Levantine. He looked at the blade itself. It inspired a fear and loathing in himself, but he stood ready as he knew of this famed sword from its legends. Cautiously he grabbed the sword and tucked it into his belt. Then he went back to the road and back on his way.*

*In Tyrsis Lord Halifax found the scene to be one of confusion. The same news which had caused the Lord Regent to send out summons for the Council of Lords had also sent the higher ups into a state of barely concealed anxiousness. This pleased him as this atmosphere suggested a future crisis. And crises always offered opportunities for promotion. With this in mind he went into the council. There everybody was waiting for their newly appointed Regent, Lord Balinore to tell them what the problem was. However, Lord Halifax simply took a seat befitting his high ranking position and listened to the others worry until the lord came and spoke.*

Lord #1: Did you hear, apparently a hoard of monsters is decending on Salonia.

Lord #2: Nay, 'tis a Trabian Army ready to advance from the north.

Lord #3: You're both wrong. A great wizard is planning to overthrow us and rule himself.

Lord #1: Hush! Lord Balinore approaches!

*Lord Balinore stood at the head of the room and cleared his throat.*

Lord Balinore: Good day fellow nobles. It is a matter of grave importance that I call you here today. Our magicians have noticed of late a shift in the ambiant magical energies of this world. This change is important in that it signals that a great evil is about to appear on this land. One which we believe we are currently unable to withstand.

Lord #4: Do we know when this evil is likely to arrive?

Lord Balinore: No. All we know is that the longer it takes for him to show, then the stronger this evil will be.

Lord #2: If we cannot do anything, then why have you called us here?

Lord Balinore: I called you here so that we could all together try and figure out how to save our nation from this evil.

Lord Halifax: A worthy and just reason. Let me make the first suggestion. Let us conscript more knights and nationalise the industries necessary to increase our airship fleet. Not to mention increase the incentives to join schools of magery.

Lord Balinore: Surely those measures you propose are a mite extreme.

Lord Halifax: They are indeed desperate measures, but are we not headed for desperate times?

Lord #2: How do we even know that these premonitions are correct? These events might never happen. Why should we take such liberties on our belief of what will happen.

Lord Halifax: Because an aspect of the Juno Blade revealed itself to me. (holds out the Levantine) Tell me, if we were not heading for a dire emergency would this sword have shown itself to me?

Lord Balinore: It would seem not. Well then, our course is clear. Lord Halifax, as the weilder of the Juno Blade, you shall be in charge of our war preparations.

      Lord Halifax: Excellent, m'lord.
