Since we have somebody new here, I figured I'd update my old summary with this one here.

To start off with, there's the first chapter, from the beginning to the fragmentation of the Planet. The answer to which is the main text of my original summary o' doom.

In the begenning there was Daryl. She liked bards back then as much as she likes bards now, and she made a post in which she said as much in a very gratuitous manner. Some people took offence at this, most notably Liquid-X, and the Bardic Wars were born. For three threads this comprised mostly of one-on-one battles with heckling from SRGPI, Krono, and Reako, and much cameoing from various anime and RPGs. The combatants were originally Daryl and Liquid-X, and myself and Epsilon X (now Eidolon X). Then, near the end of the third Bardic War thread, Epsilon-X dissapears in a mysterious manner and the one-on-one format dies off for a collaborative story.

The story now switchs to another thread going on at the time. The Moogle Wars. This started when Leo, a rare poster nowadays but a moderater at TotalRPG (hope I got the name of the site right), made a post detailing the joys of eating moogle meat. Epsilon opposed the idea of eating moogles. Can you see where this is going. The first thread was a battle royale between Leo and his cohorts and Epsilon and his cohorts. Then things changed in the second one. It started the whole multi-part story deal as SRGPI and Anonymous started off on a quest about some mysterious trials.

This is where the two threads which were formerly seperate start to merge. An important thing to remember too is that the Moogle Wars take place prior to the Bardic Wars. So, you start off with SRGPI, Anonymous and Aosloidion, Krono, TallPanzer, and Bob the Cat, all in the same time. Then later on you have myself and Section Yea Eigth showing up as time travellers. SRGPI is your basic adventurer type at this point and probably the main hero of the tale. Anonymous is the one going on the trials and Aosloidion is a randomly encountered monster that's tagging along. Krono is an enigmatic being who seems to possess godlike powers mainly in the field of time (shown not here but in the first Bardic Wars thread). TallPanzer is a demi-god that has a knack for being annoying. Bob is a fairly enigmatic personality that never really gets much clairification throughout. Myself, Excal, am an Ex-Canuck Knight from the future who's come back to duel with TallPanzer and still have connections within the knights. And SYE is a Canuck Squire who's spent 57 years on various sidequests throughout time. Keep this all in mind, it's somewhat important.

Now, the story starts off focusing on the trials and TallPanzer. Basically, Anonymous keeps on going to pass the trials meanwhile TallPanzer goes to destroy the people administering them. He ends up killing the person in charge there and then leaves. Anonymous then goes to the final area for his trials and passes them. Now it's revealed that Aosloidion and Miladi (the person administering the trials originally) are both constructs of Anonymous who turns out to be none other than Epsilon-X, though now called Eidolon X. At this point the main thing is the stampeding of the beasts of Rodir, the messanger birds being sent out, and SRGPI's quest for the pieces of the Angellic Alliance.

Now, SRGPI finishes his quest for the Angellic Alliance and completes it. The birds get out and the beasts of Rodir are defeated. However, this weakens Eidolon X to the point where he has to recharge and is thus taken over by an evil entity and a group of people are found to be at nearby Gaia's Ridge getting one of the pieces to Armageddon's blade. After the battle there ends the piece is succesfully taken and more important the airship Invincible being used by these heros has been destroyed by a blue slime. The hero's later find that this blue slime has also destroyed the city of Salonia.

At this point the main story truly begins. Everyone unites at the ruins of Salonia while TallPanzer brings in his super-dimensional fortress. However, following the rule thus far that anything large and useful to the heros is going to get destroyed by the blue slime, the Fortress is not only destroyed, but is crashed into the earth shattering it into fragments. Everybody now gathers at the end of time and scatters to a different point to try and not only stop the fragmenting of the Earth, but also to find SRGPI who has gone missing. Although Krono is eventually successful in stoping the fragmentation of the Earth, Eidolon X uses some time loophole (translation: I'm still not quite sure what happened here) to not only refragment the planet, but place his fortress right near the core. And so the heros went in and attacked the place, final dungeon style.

There are several plot twists revealed there, however, I'm not going to list them because a) I can't remember them clearly enough to do them justice. b) Eidolon does a great job of summarising the big ones in a side post on the later parts of that thread. Just look for the part where one of us is confused in the title and it branches off the main thread.

And so, there you have it, the long, long story behind the fragmentation of the planet.

Some quick points to add is that during the original bardic war phase Daryl was gone for a while. During this time we saw our first view of Krono and Eternion. Before Eternion was unimportant, but concerning his future all signs point to whatever... (err... tosses Magic 8 Squall aside) Let's just say that it looks like he's about to reappear soon.

As for the twisted plot in the end of the Eidolon Saga, I now refer to Eidolon himself.

As for the 'time loophole' used to re-destroy the planet, it went something like this:

After the planet was destroyed, TallPanzer went to find the spirit of the planet to help heal it. When he did, Eidolon appeared and dueled him, distracting him until a construct appeared and took away the spirit of the planet.

Later, the world was de-fragmented. But since the evil side of Epsilon still had the planet's spirit, and because he acquired had the time-travelling powers of Krono when he had first immersed himself in the liquid, he was able to use the planet's spirit to re-fragment the planet, and Krono's powers to fragment the planet only moments after the fortress thingy was averted from blowing up the planet.

Which explains the time loophole. As for Eidolon's origins there's this explaination by Eidolon.

Epsilon was, in the original timeline, the rough equivelant of Epsilon X - he served Daryl and the bards. However, he did it out of pure materialistic interest, and, unlike the normal one-on-one skirmishes of the Bardic Wars we currently know, fought in unscruplous manners behind Daryl's back - say, poisoning those who opposed the bards, getting rid of the body, and then telling her he beat the person in a normal one-on-one but had to destroy their body to do it.

However, the mysterious and still unexplained phenomenon that sent Epsilon X back to this time from the Bardic Wars during the battle with Excal, when it happened in Epsilon's timeline, instead sent him into the future, where Daryl was no where to be found for some unknown reason. There, he saw that he had commited great evils and vowed to change. Unfortunately, this is where he went insane and had split personality disorder, one good and one evil (and a neutral one, who is only present when both halves are gone - he's the one who is narrating in the previous post, and is present because the good half was with Eidolon and SRGPI, and the evil half had expended all his energy fighting Eidolon and SYE).

So, Epsilon tried to travel back in time to just before the Bardic Wars. However, something interfered with the travel, and he landed a thousand years before the Bardic Wars. There, Epsilon's evil half created the Meyuri(1) - Eidolon X's race - but the good half twisted them and made them more or less neutral.

For five hundred years, the two halves warred, but not in the open. Then, the evil half created the Beasts of Rodir - the same Beasts who SRGPI and Eidolon fought on the hill, and who everyone fought when Eidolon emerged from the liquid structure - to destroy the Meyuri, and for several years, individual skirmishes between Meyuri and Beast occured. Then, somehow, the Beasts of Rodir coordinated an attack on the greatest Meyuri settlement - which is the same liquid structure Eidolon went to for his 'trials', and that everyone else has been in for this thread and a bit of the last - and destroyed the Meyuri there, then split up across the planet and killed off all the Meyuri save for a few, who somehow sealed themselves away.

When the Beasts learned of the few who had survived, they became enraged and berserk, destroying stuff randomly across the planet for a while, then decided to hide themselves away until the Meyuri showed themselves (such as that one who SRGPI and Eidolon faced, who somehow buried himself in the hill).

200 years was the time between when the Beasts were created and the time they hid - which is 700 years after Epsilon arrived back in time, and 300 years until the Bardic Wars start.

For about 284 more years, the good and evil halves both wandered the world in different bodies. By fate, the two of them met at the great Meyuri settlement, and they fought. For some reason - the neutral personality's memories are vague on this, since the two halves were seperate - the two halves sealed themselves up. However, the good half tricked the evil half and sent the good essence into two vessels - Epsilon X, and SRGPI.

Okay, that about sums it up.

That brings us to the rest of it. Epsilon was defeated by SRGPI and things returned to normal. Somewhat.

While the Eidolon Saga slowed and died, the Bardic Wars flared again. Daryl was now fighting with the incarnation of dischord, Valen. Most of this battle is fairly inconsequential in terms of the timeline. However, the basic gist is that when they were young, Daryl and Valen were both united by Double Bite Three. A ritual which tied their fates together and forced them to either marry, or gather 30,000 followers to break apart their fates.

The battle obviously centred around the number of Daryl's followers. Among these were Liquid-X, Reako, Miladi, Aosloidion, and Link. Valen on the other hand just had Excal helping him, out of the characters that are still appearing. Later, after destroying the Valley of the Bards and the secret Bardic Castle Daryl did manage to spite Valen and get her 30,000 followers. However, to do this she had to have Reako use a dimentional gate to send off some excess Bards so that she would have exactly 30,000. This ended up alerting something of Reako's powers and location. A fatal error in strategy.

After the final battle between Daryl and Valen the portal Reako used to send Daryl's followers back to their homes was taken over and he, Link and Excal were sucked into it. To follow them afterwards in seperate portals is Liquid-X, Aosloidion, Miladi, Zero, Daryl, and Valen. Thus ended the Bardic Wars.

Now starts the Eternima Saga. It starts with Reako, now controlled by a strange mask stripping Excal of his powers. Excal goes off on a quest to regain those powers to stop Reako's plan to make the sun supernova. Link meanwhile is imprisoned.

When the others arrive, Aosloidion is imprisoned with Link. Together the two of them escape, but nothing has been heard from them since. Miladi was last seen in the maskariol, the refuge of the sleeping Eidolon-X. And Liquid-X, after coing loose at the hinges and being identified as something similar to the aspects of Epsilon X mentioned earlier, has brought himself together simply to be torn apart again by Reako.

Finally, there's Daryl and Valen. They have met up with two kids. A zora by the name of Eriol, and an unknown creature known as Mintaka (hope I got them right). After getting through the ocean shrine they met up with Excal who was searching for the second artifact holding his power. That situation is still developing.

The two wildcards are Karn and Eidolon. Eidolon is still in seclution. But he may yet rejoin the quest by helping Liquid-X. And then there is Karn, a thief. He showed up on a quest to grab the crystal holding Excal's powers. Is he working for an agent of the enemy, is he neutral, or does he have some yet unknown motive?

And so, another semi-coherant summary is born.

Excal, really trying to fit in more doom, but it just doesn't want to go in.
