Reako (Login ReakoSumnerSS) from IP address 12.26.208.66
sorry all for being gone for a while. Being grounded from the net really sucks. *cough* aaaanyway, I noticed a topic like this still isn't around somewhere, either that or I don't see it.
What kind of topic you ask?
Well, one that explains your RP character, who they are, what they are, important facts about them, thier specialty abilities, thier past, etc.
I was thinking maybe newer RPers to this board would be a bit more comfortable knowing who they are RPing with, and might know what characters they can't be cheap with (hopefully)
I'll just start out with my info. I'll add an updated pic to it later.
Origional Character: Reako Somner
Class: Psionist
Weapon of Choice: Rival the Grey (Sword)
Current Age: 25
Power Level: Heavy to Extreme. Knows quite a bit of magic to back up his more innate skills.
History: Where can I begin? Reako's story begins quite a long time ago, when he was 10 (actually, even further back than that, but that's another story...) and traveled with a friend of SRGPI's after his adoptive home, Salith's Monestary, was destroyed by an otherworldy force commanded by Emperor Valzar. He went on a long journey to seek vengence, and by the time he met Daryl, his first friend here, he was 20 years old, and had much experiance. Not long after meeting the bardic goddess, Reako sensed a tremendous disturbance in a nearby dimension, and thought it only right to go assist. He was astonished at what he saw: two beings of utmost power duking it out; Krono and Eternity. Not knowing just what he could do to help, Reako jumped into battle and assisted Krono, though Krono wasn't too happy with this intrusion, he allowed it to happen. Ignoring him at first, Krono and Reako have since become good friends. Sometime later, after countless journeys, Reako returned to the world where he first met his friends. Daryl was being attacked by a man named Valen. Of course, Reako came to help once again, only to be disturbed by an even greater threat... he knew full well with Liquid X now on the scene that Daryl could easily take on Valen, and that exsistance was in danger with the other conflict. He left to the dimension where the power was eminating from: the world where Eidolon X currently resided. Here, Reako ran into Krono once again. There was a problem at hand: a barrier was surrounding the castle that prevented access. Reako used most of his power on a skill he had just learned, and in current time has mastered. Not much else is said about Reako in this conflict. After the fall of Eidolon X, Reako returned to check on Daryl. Valen had run off to somewhere, and Daryl informed Reako of her plan: find the valley of the bards, and gain enough followers to break the curse that bound Daryl and Valen together. Reako contacted many friends he met in his travels and teleported them in to help. In the last story, Reako's body was taken over by an accursed Lesser Eternal by the name of Infinija. Forced to see the destruction Infinija caused through his own eyes, this was a very hard time. Once again, Reako's friends came to his rescue, and defeated Infinija. Currently... the story of Reako's true past may soon unfold...
Perfect timing on your little call for character summaries, Reako. Recently, I've started putting together a little compendium for this board to act as a guid to the place for newbies, and a reminder of the past to help those of us RPing keep continuity.
Right now I plan to do sections on history of the board worlds (ie, a summary of all of the stories here. But far more in depth than the summaries o' doom.), the characters (in a few days I was gonna make a similar call as Reako's, but I wanted to have a few other sections done and html'ed first), important organisations, places, and items, a timeline, basic makeup of the world with a breakdown of the base elements (I have a guide to the 8 base elements and "void" energy done. Props to Webrunner and Liquid-X there.) And last, but most certainly not least, a newbie guide made up of some suggestions from the regulars for those who're new to this place.
For those of you who're interested, I'd love any help. And if you want to see what I have done then simply get in touch with me and I'll be glad to get back to you ASAP. Afterall, I may be the one putting all of this together, but the world here isn't mine and so I'll give equal weight to all those with suggestions.

Excal, who's hoping people don't mind his taking the liberty.
Allright boys and girls, heres some vital statistics on X.
Name: Liquid-X
Current age: Unknown, though APPEARS to be around 22-23
Height: 6'2"
Weight: 200 pounds
Race: Human
Eyes: Currently pure blue, but seem to change occasionally
Hair color: Black
Blood Type: AB positive
Physical notes: Ambidexterious, Shadow Caster mark on left side of chest.
Class: Shadow Caster
Weapons: Known to be able to use swords, though currently relying on fists and energy blasts.
Known relatives: Chaos (Biological father), Lilithia (Biological Mother, Deceased), Xanthion (Lilithia's Husband, wherabouts unknown).
Power Level: Bordering on obscene.
Condensed history: Liquid-X is a mystery to most, even himself. What little of his past IS known is this. X is the son of Chaos itself, which had taken on human form and had an affair with a human woman Lilithia. Soon after he was born, Lilithia's husband Xanthion discovered the truth, and killed Lilithia in a drunken rage. X was continually abused by his "Father" Xanthion until one day the young boy snapped and lost control of the hidden powers of Chaos within.
Since then, X brought chaos wherever he went, leaving a path of destruction as he consistently lost controll. X was eventually captured and banished to another plane, where he was taken in by one of the few remaining Shadow Casters and taught their ways. As X learned the ways of the Shadow Casters, this would help him controll some of his power. He would eventually lose his master and begin travelling the planes, seeking for his lost childhood friend Daryl.
This would eventually spark the "First" Bardic War (which would somehow be erased from history) and would eventually end up with X realising and admitting his love for Daryl during the "Infinija" campaign. X would later die in this campaign only to be brought back to life by Daryl who (Realising she loved X) would brave Hades to restore him.
Miscellanious notes:Without a doubt, X is a VERY dangerous person, comparable in power to Krono (and probably even MORE powerfull). Not only is he A Shadow Caster (A class of warriors who use Shadows and Illusion to confuse their enemies) but he wields the very energies of Chaos itself. The only downside is that utilizing the powers of Chaos is dangerous not only to X, but to everyone around him, especially since X can barely controll the weaker of his powers.
In fact, X has only really accessed the more powerfull techniques when in a rage. When pushed to the extreme's, X snaps. Losing all control of himself he unleashes energies left and right as the energy surges within him, often destroying whole cities or lands before finally calming down. Because of this, X is his most dangerous enemy, and the only two who have been able to calm him down during these rages are Daryl and the young moogle child of Eidolon X, Milidi.
Suffice it to say, X is a veritable loose cannon, capable of destroying himself if he sinks to far into the madness trying to overtake his mind. Even worse is that the fact that somewhere out there is Xanthion, determined to make X's life as miserable as possible before finally destroying him.

Good idea.
June 16 2001, 5:45 PM
But that was the whole point of the now-unraveled "Cosmic Mischief" thread. It seems that everyone was too upset to realize that, even after I explained it. Still, since that thread is unraveled now, I will consider this to be the official introduction/explanation thread. You can see my bio near the end of the "Cosmic Mischief" thread.
Name: Flake Kingham
Current Age: About 20, apparently.
Race: Human, though possibly some dwarf or elf in ancestry
Hair color: Red
Class: Wastrel, if that was a class
Weapons: Swords, occasionally staves, magical scrolls and a bardic lute (you'd be surprised)
Known relatives: None
Power Level: Hard to say
Condensed History: Flake's memories of his parents are ppretty scarce, as they died when he was a child. At the age of 16, he performed some military service in the mistaken belief that it would help his popularity. After this, Flake learned many different trades adventuring, adn eventually travelled to (whatever the current place is called).
Facts:
Flake is an almost immediately annoying person. He's clumsy, and an idiot. He tends toward cowardice. He's still reasonably amiable, and has a carefree amble through life, generally adventuring for profit and recognition.
He's heard of honour, but doesn't want to bother with it. Honest he isn't, however, his lack of intelligence generally compensates. He's irresponsible and impatient as well. He can be easily intimidated.
There's not a lot to be said about him. Most importantly, avoid listening to his music.
Name: Lowell
Species: Lagomorph
Age: Somebody who made an educated guess might say 10-12. They'd be wrong, which just goes to show.
Appearance: About 2' tall with kasa. Also wears a black cloak and, apparently, nothing else(but wears a Beret when necessary). Has light green fur.
Class: Cook
Weapon: All-Purpose Knife or Mashers
Power level: Mediocre to mediocre-high. He has some attacks derived from cooking techniques, and he can learn blue magic, and also prepare meals that impart knowledge of blue magic. As a lagomorph, he can heal for small amounts of HP inherently, and the food he prepares, of course, restores health.
Condensed history: Currently, Lowell has just stepped onto the stage, so this section probably should wait until some time passes. Certainly a lagomorph who just happens to have incredible cooking ability has some story to tell. Look for an update later.
Notes: Despite hailing from a species that is occasionally food, Lowell is a marvelous cook. His cloak appears to be the kind of infinite inventory that is not uncommon to RPG's, and he's able to keep ingredients fresh in there somehow. Nobody quite knows how he'd fare if the cloak was taken away. He has a realistic outlook on life, but sometimes embarrasses himself by acting self-righteous and passionate about food preperation, serving, etc. He seems uninterested in the usual rewards of adventuring; he's not greatly enthusiastic about money, but probably wouldn't back down from the other reward, the chance to save the world. Then again, he's not tripping over himself to save the world. He just seems drawn to the most dangerous dungeons and artifacts.

Ah, what the hey
June 18 2001, 4:09 PM
Ok, this will be a long post as I'm gonna do a quick brief of all six of my chars.
Excal Irius Burned
Age: 18, 21
Hair: Dark and short cropped
Eyes: Blue-grey
Hand: Prefers left, though partially ambidextrous.
Weapon: The Blood Sword, but can use any weapon.
Class: Canuck Knight / Vigilante
History:
Excal was born in Tyrsis in 977A (977 years after the arrival in this world of the original Canadians) to Canuck Knight Irius Cattan Burned and Maria Burned. His childhood was a typical one, and his father began teaching him swordplay at a young age. Then his life was shattered in the Bofsk Massacre of 985A. There his father was killed by a nightmare and his mother by rebels. Excal himself would have been killed by these rebels were it not for the intervention of Amber McAllister. However, he found shelter and managed to survive that night. Although, upon hearing about how his father died, his father was called a coward as were all those who had fallen to the nightmares and Excal himself was called a coward's son. This isolated him during his teen years as this indignity was limited mostly to the armed forces so most others with this distinction decided to ease their burden and become civilians. Instead he spent his enforced isolation studying history, magic, and various legends and languages as well as practising various weaponskills. Add in an insomnia that developed from nightmares relating to the Bofsk Massacre. This led to his being the best of his class and allowed him the option to try the trial to join the Canuck Knight elite forces. And so it was on this quest that he left, eventually getting tied up in the Moogle Wars. During these wars he found the Aura Gun and a map to the location of the legendary Juno Blade. He left the Moogle Wars to check out the location of the sword (a sure entrance to the elite forces) but turned back when he found out that the sword had a more powerful guardian than he could face then. He then went to return to the Moogle Wars, but they were then being replaced by the Eidolon Wars which he was warned to stay away from. He has since been wandering looking for a quest that will allow him to fulfill his quest. Also, by means of a loophole, there is also another Excal out there. This is an Excal from an alternate future where he wandered for two and a half years and got involved in the Bardic Wars, dueling against Epsilon X. After which battle he picked up the legendary Juno Blade with the assistance of Section Yea Eighth and several other artifacts before heading back in time to duel with TallPanzer. What had intended to be a brief stay to settle an old score turned into a longer one as he became embroiled in the Epsilon War which changed time so that his timeline and the Bardic Wars no longer exsisted. He was allowed continued exsistance despite messing up the timeline in exchange for his help in fixing the mess he had helped to cause. However, this left him with no home. As such, he drifted to the most natural place for him. The new bardic wars. There he became Valen's top supporter in a vicious battle that they eventually lost. At which point he was drawn into Eternima through Reako's portal. There he was stripped of his powers and was sealed into a ten year old body. He broke the seal on his powers and gained some new abilities, but died facing the lesser eternal Infinija. He had a few adventures in Hades, but he willingly shuts off most of that time. He was ressurected due to the influence of Section Yea Eighth.
Character Notes:
Excal's driving force in life is basically to restore honour to the Burned name and to prove wrong all those who mocked him as a coward. To do this he plans to achieve rank as the highest knight in the relm, or to be a true hero of legend. To do this he plans to gain strength and skill to complete quests that prove his bravery. So this means that he is eagre to seem brave even if it's a foolhardy task and takes overly seriously any questions posed about his honour. Add to this a confrontational temperment and a firm belief in the school of, if it don't work, whack it. An added problem for his older self is that he is the weakest of his group. He is entirely self consious of this fact, and is resentful of the fact that not only is he nigh useless with the people he is around, but also in the various treatment he has recieved. Especially the treatment recieved from Bob and his power being sealed by Infinija.
Current status: Travelling in search of a quest / resting from the aftermath of the battle with Infinija.
Amber McAllister
Age: 19
Hair: Amber, down to mid shoulder blades (It's where her name comes from)
Eyes: Green
Weapon: Bows, but uses the sword of light, Excalibur.
Hand: Right handed
Class: Paladin
History:
She was born to a simple family in Tyrsis. Her family operated a magical items store from which she learned the basics of magic. When the Rebellion started her brother enlisted with the knights and her family joined those calling for a swift punishment of the rebels. But Amber joined the rebels after a long argument with her family, beliving the rebels forces to be right. There she learned how to fight and cast higher level magics. Eventually she found the sword Excalibur. She tried to stop the Bofsk Massacre from happening, but could not do so. The history books show that she died in the final battle of the rebellion.
Notes: Coming from a merchant background she has few combat skills. However, she is trying to make up for this lack of skills and has taken quite readily to the Bow and Arrow as well as to light magic. She is highly self critical and always believes that there was more she could have done, even if she did the best she could under the circumstances. This is because of a strong desire to try and protect her allies no matter what the cost to herself. And any injury to those close to her or innocents is seen as a failure on her part.
Current Location: Technically dead, but ten years ago it was right outside of Bofsk, camping for the night.
Lord Byron of Halifax
Age: 38
Hair: Black, done up in an aristocratic ponytail
Eyes: Blue
Hand: Right
Weapon: The Levantine, although he too can use any weapon.
Class: Dark Knight
History:
Halifax is a New Canada noble. He gained his title a few years ago after his father died of illness. Before that he was trained as a Canuck Knight and earned a position as an elite soldier in the dark troup, the Dark Knights. Recently he became the Minister of War during the rebellion. History books say that he died in a duel with the rebel leader Amber McAllistar during the final confrontation.
Character:
Halifax is ruthless and desires greater power for himself. But even through that, has an overriding loyalty to the crown. He firmly believes that the ends justify the means and will use any means so long as he believe the gains to be worth the price. Has an extreme contempt for those he does not respect, but has a deep respect for those who have earned it, though he'll nevel let that show if you're an enemy. Has a very firm belief in his own ability and lets people know it.
Current Location: Bofsk, preparing to head to Tyrsis.
Gerad Roddas
Age: 23
Hair: Blond, shoulder length
Eyes: Blue
Hand: Right
Weapon: Ragnarok, though he can use swords and staves.
Class: Druid
History:
Gerad comes from the magic kingdom of Mysidia. There he decided to live out the common vision of going on a quest to become a hero, and decided to follow in the footsteps of Mysidia's hero of choice, Reako Somner. Unfortunatly, he proved unable to become a master psionist, so he switched fields and went to become like the other human hero from the Eidolon War. This led him to find the Ragnarock and learn it's skills.
Character:
Gerad is a very methodical person as well as very serious. Seeing as his first ocupation was to be a mage, it moulded how he thought. He tends to think things through before he does them and is patient beyond his years. Tends to be the opposite of Excal.
Current Location: Unknown.
Garain
Age: 12
Hair: Blond, short
Eyes: Blue (so I like blue eyed chars)
Hand: Right
Weapon: Swords, Bows, and limited magic.
Class: Fighter
History:
What history? He lived in Pax where he studied every martial art he could find as well as useful survival skills and how to make a bow and his own arrows. He's now on a quest to become like his hero, Canis.
Character:
Precosious. He's also impetuous, but can be levelheaded and fairly intelligent. Only thing really going against him is that he's overly zealous to become a hero which might throw him into situations he can't deal with.
Current Location: Trekk Inn.
Rael
Age: 12
Hair: Brown, shoulder length
Eyes: Brown
Hand: Left
Weapon: Rods, Staves, and his magic.
Class: Mage
History:
Garain's friend. He agreed to teach him some magic in exchange for part time duty as a bodyguard until Rael could protect himself from the bullies of Pax. He left with Garain when he went on his quest, noone really knows why.
Character:
Somewhat shy and frail, Rael is often nervous and anxious. However, his caution has proved a valuable asset in the past and serves as a valuable counterbalance to Garain's curiousity.
i may as well join in too, i'm in the IC threads already

hops on bandwagon
This is an old character from a campaign i ran a while back--one of my favorite NPC's ever. I had a lot of fun playing this guy.
Priam Nevhausten
Age: 13 (and a half!)
Hair: Dirty Blonde (more the former than the latter)
Eyes: Brownishgreenish
Handed: Right
Weapon: either a big shortsword, or a small longsword
Class: Psionicist (and more, details below)
Power Level: Pitiful, but growing exponentially
Height: 5'3"
Weight: ~140 lbs
Race: Human (as far as anyone can tell)
Appearance: Being in his early years, as adventurers go, he is rather short, and somewhat stout. He wears a green robin-hood style tunic, with brown pantaloons. His hair is blandly straight, and at his hip he has a small leather 'scabbard' (more like a holster) for his blade. At his other hip is something of a utility pack, containing all the basic wilderness survival essentials--flint, three whetstones, and a few packs of herbs--with rope, a tiny lantern, and a small (but sharp) knife in a leather sheath, fastened adjacently to his belt. None of his equipment appears to be terribly high-quality, but it all seems very effecient--especially while in use.
History:
Priam grew up in a small village of about seven houses, but most of the residents knew much about the magical arts; be they priestly, holy magic, or secular, studious magic. His parents were one of each. They spotted his high potential and intellect at an early age, and began his magical training at the age of two. He understood everything they said, verbally, but its deeper meaning eluded him, as though he were not meant to know magic's secrets. Eventually, while practicing with his mother, her teachings revolving around a Holy Stone Throw spell, his frustration built up and projected the stones from the table directly onto the target's bullseye--each of the three stones pushing the heavy target back a few inches--without the Holy imbuing normally required to 'throw' the stones. His mother shrugged it off as a magical fluke, and continued teaching him, as did his father. Priam picked up on more and more of their teachings, and twisted them to his own methodology. In reality, what he does not realize is that he is harnessing not the power of God, or the power of the cosmos, but the power of his own mind--his Holy Stones is psychokinesis, his Teleport is psychoportation, his Spirit Armor is psychometabolic skin hardening. It is not magic, but it emulates its effects--and that was good enough for his parents, and his village. Eventually, he tired of his parents' teachings, and his ways to work around them, and left the village to seek out further tutelage--as well as combat training. What is a warrior without a useful weapon, after all?
A short bit of training, and a small walk, and he found a bar--ordering water, of course. Booze makes your breath smell nasty. He overheard someone say they were going on an adventure...and to a casino, no less...sounds like fun...
name:infernos

ok lets roll em, little info
July 5 2001, 2:33 AM
Name: Skit Steele
Age: roughly 20
Handed: sword play, both. Anything else, right
Class: Blade Dancer
Hair: brown with blue highlights
Race: A smaller human, or a larger elf
Special notes: Monocular with a half torched face
Weapon of choice: anything he can grab that has a blade
History: Trained from the age of 5 by an elitist sword handlers group known only as blade dancers. This group was givin this name because their efficiency in sword play was so finely tuned that they looked more like dancers than warriors. The training included never getting mad or hostile and only to fight when absolutely necessary. Skit was ejected at the age of 15 when his overwhelming urge to be superior to all became apparent. Shortly after dueling two men for their loyalty a traveler showed himself in the city. Skit being annoyed at this travelers attempt to sing decided to rob this fellow. Flake, (the traveler) was quick with his sword and dispatched the two henchmen he had newly acquired and in a play for power drew his own sword (the specifics to be brought out slowly in this current adventure) and charged. Then Skit fell to something he had been tought to only be a myth, A fire spell seared his face and having no knowledge of magic did not block it in time, his face badly scorched and his eye permanently useless, he collapsed and was left for dead. Spending the next four years training and stalking the fiend who burned him, he learned what he could of magic resistance and attained a second sword not unlike his first, and learned the art of fighting with a second armament. With almost no skills other than sword play and a few blade dance tricks (mainly enchant weapons and self buffs) he has come all to close to ending his revenge saga. Always cold and calculating, but at the same time cocky and charismatic...wether a good guy, or a bad guy no one knows. The only known personal weakness that he has is an incredible fear of dogs, and will never turn down a fight for his loyalty (you beat me, i am your army)

Badly Translated NPC
Age: Not important
Hair: Not important
Eyes: Not important
Hand: Not Important
Weapon: None
Class: NPC
Items: Any that somehow advance the plot in some way.
History:
A strange NPC who... like all NPCs... is pacifistic, and is there to only give the PCs info. But this poor fellow is different, he tries his hardest to give the heroes info in traditional NPC fasion, but one problem: He was fansubbed directly from the japanese version, so he is incoherant to everyone but himself. He has learned to break away from the traditional ways of "moving back and forth in a one room house with no indoor plumbing", and has found out how to adventure for himself, relaying broken advice (obtained god knows how) to any hero he meets. And, being protected by the God of NPCs, cannot be harmed in any way shape or form, even though he is technically not an NPC, since he is being played by the person he is being played by...
Character:
N/A.
Why?:
just wanted to have a pure comic relief character.
