... I was in that area in August 1999 (wow, that sounds like a long time ago now!). Unfortunately for us, the trail was closed beyond the overlook -- can't remember why now. Wish I could have gone all the way to the lake but the scenery was spectacular as far as I got. I too got a few pictures of mountain goats in that area, one came within a few feet of me! I'll try to get some of my shots scanned and posted too. Probably not until I get back from my trip though.
