I can definitely see what attracted you to the grass and the maple leaves, and the exposure of those elements is great. The thing that spoils this picture is the background, especially the large area of white in the upper part of the composition. Bright areas in the background like this tend to pull a viewer's attention away from the real picture. I'm not sure if a slightly different camera angle -- rotating around to the right a little -- could have eliminated that background while still showing the backlit grass and leaves or not but, that might have been one solution.
A couple of things could be done to improve the image as it stands. First of all, crop it a bit tighter, especially chopping off a lot of the unneeded background on the right. Some of the background on the left could be cropped as well. I don't think I'd crop anything vertically though.
Then, to really make this good, go into your electronic darkroom and replace all that white and blue background with the mottled, dark brown of the rest of the background. Some people might disapprove of this level of "doctoring" but, in this case, it would sure turn this into a very nice picture indeed. Just look at it as post production creativity.
