Almost tossed it.

" Yup, I'm ExitB and I take pictures." That's who I am and that's what I do and that's what I tell myself to get my butt up off the sofa and go outside on a Saturday afternoon after consuming yet another order of leftover Thanksgiving turkey and stuff... and maybe a beer ... instead of taking a nap. The sun was getting low. The dogs were willing to come along. The dusk colors came, and I got the picture I wanted. I had it in my hand (smart memory), I had it on my monitor. I edited it! It was a keeper. I saved it. And then I lost it. What can I say? It got off. Gone! ... with the click of a mouse. Nope, not in the recycle bin. So the next Saturday (last) I was on the sofa and the sun was getting low and I tell myself "I take pictures ... better get out there. IT's still out there." But when I arrived at the Grass Lake Nature Preserve the park was closed for an archery deer hunt. Plan B brought me to Sucker Lake and the St. Paul Water Utility aquaduct. There was open water, there was ice and snow ... dusk and ducks. I took some pictures. I tried a few low light techniques but the sky was too blah and the channel was too straight and there were too many trees all around and I had a "case of attitude" as my son would say. It seemed like just a job now. In the post processing I tossed them all but the above, which was saved by the two mallards which unexpectedly dropped into the view. I guess you can't always get what you want but you always get what you get and sometimes its kinda neat.
