Going on the 5 AU's (which is approximately 748,185,000 km) and c (the speed of light) being 300,000 km/s (or 1,080,000,000 km/hr). If they need to get from Io to Earth in 3 hours, then they have to travel at 249,395,000 km/hr, which is only about 0.23c. Therefore, they don't need to go anywhere near the speed of light to make the trip.
