It’s upgrade day! Or, I think it may be more accurate to say it is upgrade weekend as this will not be a simply process, as all the current directories and files have to be deleted one-by-one and replaced with the new files.
Now, just so everyone knows, I will begin uploading the new content tonight and much of it should be up and on-line by Saturday morning. Some sections however will be delayed, like the new section regarding the history of the Psi-Corps. This is due to the fact I have not had time to read the B5 books and two of the three people I asked to write up these sections flaked out on me.
Regardless, all sections with regards to the ships will be posted, including new information about the Technomages, Shadows, and 3rd Space Aliens. Over the next month, as math figures are double-checked by third parties, I will also be adding more essays to the Science & FAQ section. Several new essays are already written and prepped, including new sections on Earthforce Armor, explanations behind the 20x armor modifier that has caused so much controversy as of late, Minbari and Centauri weapons and the destruction of the Black Star.
A lot of new audio and video clips will be posted during this site upgrade. All the video clips will be in Microsoft *.ASF streaming video format and will play through any copy of Microsoft Windows Mediaplayer 4.0 or higher. Video clips will be denoted by a picture of a video cassette tape, while audio clips will be denoted by a speaker, so look out for those. Please note that not all the video/audio clips will be posted this weekend, but phased in through out the month of March due to a bunch of clips not working with IE 6.0.
Also, this month will see the creation of the new Babylon 5 Tech-Manual B.Board, which will be replacing the original Dreambook guest book. I will also begin phasing out the Network 54 b.board as that message board… well… sucks. Let’s face it, Network 54 has sparked more complaints than anything here, with maybe the exception of my inability to get an upgrade out on time. :b
This being the case I
highly recommend that
everyone posting at the Dreambook forum start moving their discussions to the new “eZboard” forum, as the Dreambook forum will be shut down by this time next Friday. I’d also recommend that people posting at the Network 54 b.board register and start getting used to the new “eZboard” forum as it will eventually replace the N54 forum as well.
At the “eZboard” forum Galen, Grand Inquisitor Dask, Hyperspace and Nathan Meade will be getting special honorary titles and their own totem images that I will provide, due to their long standing participation at this site and defense of this b.board several months ago when it was attacked. If any of the people mentioned have a specific honorary title or totem image you would like to have, e-mail me and I’ll be sure to set it up once you’ve registered with the new b.board (
don’t worry Galen, I’ve already set an image of Galen aside for you 
). They will also be first in line to be given moderator/administrative privileges.
Enforcer, Chris Sapiano, Kang, and now
Connor MacLeod will all be given full administrative privileges at the new “eZboard” which includes the right to delete posts and ban users, though Enforcer will continue to be the only person
other than myself who will speak directly for this site and, if need be, on my behalf should I not be available - Enforcer is still the boss of the b.boards.
Okay… that’s everything. New sections of the B5 Tech-Manual will start being posted around Midnight PST and most everything will be on-line by Monday morning with more new material coming out all March long.
