But I've played them. According to the way B5W works, the G'Quan sucks compared to the Primus. The Primus has four long range weapons, and pretty respectable armor. The G'Quan has two long range weapons, e-mines that might or might not hit, and a bunch of anti-fighter weapons. The G'Quan versus Primus battle at B5 didn't actually involve a G'Quan class ship, but one of its variants (at least according to AoG). Like I said, the variants are nasty as all get out, but the base one is just sorta there. Try playing a G'Quan against a Primus and you'll see how the two really don't measure up.
If you've ever get a chance to go up against the Gaim, you'll find out that there ships aren't as weak as they seem on paper. I don't hate them as much as those blasted Vree, but they're up there.
The Alacans were pretty much wiped out. There's only a small colony left on the homeworld. The Krish and Mitoc also met a similar fate. As for the Hurr and Grome, they're pretty bad. The Hurr use older technology on pretty blah hulls. The Grome at least have larger hulls and big, nasty matter weapons. both these races suffer from having to close quickly, but not having the engine power to do it.
As for the Abbai, they really aren't all that great. They have virtually no offensive power, their armor is actually pretty low compared to even other League races, and anti-fighter systems are pretty short ranged. The only thing they have going for them is they can run fast. During the Dilgar War, they lost their outer colonies and pulled back, like you said. The Dilgar made several major assaults on the planet, causing significant damage to the ecosphere. The Dilgar realized they'd never take the world, so they just went about poisoning the planet and pounding it as much as they could. |
