Response to Parade with Leopardo 2E/Leopard 2A5/A6 EX?

Hello Frank,

28 Leopardos 2E have already been delivered by Santa Bárbara company to the División Acorazada Brunete - Brunete Armoured Division-, of Spanish Army.

One of them took part in the military parade of the "Dia de las Fuerzas Armadas" -Armed Forces Day- on October the twelfth this year.

The main difference between Spanish Leopardo 2E and other countrie´s A6EX is that Spanish Leopardos have been fitted with the Rheinmentall L44 instead of the L55 that is the main innovation of A6 EX. Funny, isn´t it?. Spanish Leopardos are though prepared to be fitted with the L55 later on as L44 becames obsolete or even sooner if an inminent conflict occurs.

There are some other minor differences with other A6 EXs in use by other countries, mainly aesthetical, that have been discussed in Modern Armor discussion group some days ago. I think it won´t be difficult to find these messages in that phorum.

The insignia that Leopardo 2E will use is the same Leopards II A4 of the Brunete Division are using today. On Late October there will be on sale a new decal sheet for spanish "Brunete Brigade" Leopards 2 A4. It´s price will be 10 euros, postage not included. If you are interested send an e-mail for reservations to:

I hope I have solved some of your doubts.

Cheers

Luis
