According to Spanish Deffence Office´s Official Web Page the engine of Leopardo 2E is a water cooled, 47.600 cc, twelve cylinders in V shape at 90 degrees, MTU MB 873-Ka501.
It is being made by Empresa Nacional Bazán -Bazan National Enterprise (National means that it is owned by Spanish State)-, with MTU´s support.
I will try to find more information about the outside differences between other A6 EX and Spanish Leopardo 2E.
I´ve tried some web pages I know, but no photograph of the 2E is avalaible yet.
Will keep on serching. Anyway I own a house ten kilometers from "El Goloso" -that is the name of the quarter of Brunete Division in the village of Colmenar Viejo, near Madrid, and I know well where their manouvers field is. Been there many times watching their AMX-30s and then Leopards II A4 on the move. I will draw near this weekend to see if I can take some photos. This guys are on the manouvers field on weekends very frecuently. The Army doesn´t know about weekends off, you know.
