I too think that everthing that is said in the article rings true, i am considering buying one of those bridles but they are a little pricey for us poor horsey folks !!

I was very impressed with the work Dr. Robert Cook has done, it all seemed to make perfect sense to me. I have ordered a bitless bridle from him and am currently waiting for it to be shipped over; although I have heard some excellent reports about them. They are quite different to hackamores, which can be quite severe, as they work mostly on the sensitive nose, chin groove and poll; and they have much more control than the milder scawbrig.

IN THE LAST 3 WEEKS I HAVE STARTED RIDDING MY MARE IN THE SCHOOL WITH OUT A BIT, I SCHOOL HER IN A PARELLI ROPE HALTER, (ABOUT £22)WITH A LONG REIN, SHE IS SO MUCH HAPPIER WITH THIS. I STILL PUT A BRIDLE ON HER WHEN HACKING AS SHE IS VERY STRONG BUT THE OTHER DAY I WENT OUT WITH THE HALTER UNDER THE DRIDLE AND MY NORMAL REINS KNOTED. I DID'NT HAVE TO TOUCH THOSE REINS ONCE AND SHE IS MUCH MORE RELAXED AND SHE DOESN'T LEAN ON THE BIT LIKE SHE USED TO.
I WILL CONTINUE TO SCHOOL HER LIKE THIS, I CAN'T BELEIVE THE DIFFERENCE IT HAS MADE TO HER WHOLE ATTITUDE.
TRY IT FOR YOUR SELFS EVEN IF YOU JUST TRY TO SCHOOL WITH YOU HEAD COLLAR (ONLY IN AN ENCLOSED AREA PLEASE AS IT WOULD BE TOO DANGEROUS TO DO OTHERWISE)
LET ME KNOW IF ANY OF YOU HAVE ANY LUCK

to bit or not to bit is an interestibg subject and i agree that bitless bridles can be quite pricey but what i would advise is that if your horse is not happy with a bit then that is when you should invest in getting a bitless bridle, but if i were you dont change anything if your horse is happy!!!
