Trip Report: Quetico Rivers run/ Memorial Weekend

by (Login srtrout)

The Quetico River Run - May 20 May 26 2009.

Four of us ran the bigger Quetico rivers: Maligne, Namakan, and Quetico this spring. This was a great trip and I might try to write it up for BWJ, so I may wax less verbose than usual.

Our crew consisted of our leader Sarge; Bill the Builder; Mighty Mike; and myself (Senor Trout). 2 Wenonahs, 2 Eureka tents, one food pack that weighed 60 pounds and two smaller additional food packs; 5 fishing rods; 3.2 liters of rum&Windsor.; two milk cartons full of frozen margaritas.

I am grateful for assistance from two Board members; Granite Cliffs and Mn Green. Cliffs cautioned us about the high and dangerous water on the Maligne; Green encouraged us as he had done the route before.
