Perhaps between the two of you...

by Canoodler (Login lrheg)

both of you could come up with a very detailed calculator: is a portage uphill? Expected wind direction for the time of year? Model of boat (i.e. hull design)? Water levels (i.e. high, medium or low)? Attractions along the way to slow you down? Paddler's stroke power (i.e. like a football player or a slight built person)? Ah... that should make the final calculations pretty good!!! Perhaps the final calculator would be a marketable tool? (LOL)
