Early on the 5th...

by (Login paddledoc)

we drove early up to Baudette on the border to meet up with a sister of one of our group. She was coming from Ely.
We waited. And we waited. We tried to call her. We waited some more. Turns out she could not leave Ely because the roads were blocked by downed trees.
She finally made it out of town and we all met up. We camped in Baudette that night and did out trip a day later. That night it rained heavily. On the 6th, we nearly were blown off Kagagi Lake - as close as I've come to dying by canoe.
