Response to Has anyone here ever encountered a bear on a portg and hit it on the nose w a short stick?

At Camp Tomahawk a number of years ago. The bear was making noises outside of his tent and he could not sleep. So he got up went out of hes tent and wacked the bear on the nose with his walking cane. The bear left. Charlie weighs about 350, the bear was about 300. I would not recomend this course of action.
