SNF Wolves

by casprrr (Login casprrr)

Since it'll be a few more months before I can dip a paddle into the water, I just spent some time looking around the Wolf Center's site and found this list http://www.wolf.org/wolves/experience/telemsearch/wolfinfo.asp of radio-collared wolves in the Superior National Forest. Although I think that the list has some rather interesting info, I selected a few wolves from near the bottom of the list (some of those shown as "On the Air"), went to the track wild wolves database (http://www.wolf.org/wolves/experience/telemsearch/vtelem/telem_main.asp ), pulled out my BWCA maps, and plotted their positions. Found it a rather enjoyable way to spend a few hours, and a good excuse to dig out my maps! wink.gif

A few years ago, Tough Old Bird and I saw what appeared to be a rather old wolf on the Gunflint Trail, but I've never seen any others in the wild.
