Trip plan questions - Seagull vs Lac La Croix/Crooked

by (Login Kodaska)

I'm thinking of doing an east-side trip this year in September, entering and exiting at Seagull. The route would go west through Kekekabic, up to Knife, back around American Point, and down through Red Rock. This would be a 10-day solo trip, and I estimate the distance at 50 miles. I've seen the recent suggestions on where to stay before heading out. I wonder if anyone has any suggestions, cautions, etc. Are there any high-water or low-water concerns?

My other trip will probably go around Lac La Croix, across Crooked Lake and down through Fourtown to Mudro (two weeks, 65 miles). That's planned for mid-May in order to avoid black flies. Is there any reason to reverse the timing of the two trips?

Thanks.
