Black Flies

by (Login passteve)

Mid may, completely depending on how Spring comes, is probably not an escape from Black Flies. I went on a portage clearing trip back in '06 the first of May and the Black Flies were awful, going out of Moose Lake into Ensign.

However, I would guess reversing your trips wouldn't make any difference if there are black flies. Just would differ on which trip you would have them on. Water levels might be more of an issue on your Crooked to Mudro trip though so May might be best for that one.

Just a couple of thoughts.
