Snowbank to Knife info

by Woodweller (Login Woodweller)

Looking for info on the lakes/portages in the Snowbank to Knife area. Our group will be 9 people, going through Big City Mountaineers in August. The BCM guide and I are the only experienced trippers. It'll be two newbie adults and five Chicago teens plus us. I've done Snowbank-Boot-Ima-Thomas-Alice before, but not into Knife. What is the lay of the land? I've read that there's a couple of grunt portages. Any recommended campsites? What about Dorothy's island? What other background, historical info would fill in the blanks for us? Thanks!
