Ideas for solo basecamp in Sept

by aircanoe (Login aircanoe)

Do to the ravages of old age, didn't make a BW trip last year, but I would like to do one last trip. I'm thinking about a solo basecamp trip off the Gunflint in Sept. I'm relatively healthy, but chronic back problems limit my portaging abilities. General guidelines would be;
1. Limited portages to basecamp lake
2. Good fishing opportunities
3. Good camp site chaoice

Thinking Seagull, Saganaga, maybe Long Island, etc.

Suggestions would be appreciated
