I've used the Crescent Lake Campground. It's a NFS camp, well maintained,

and about 2/3rds of the way from the north shore to Brule. There are one or two "water points" in the camp and places to deposit your garbage properly. May have some noise from motorboats (but not to excess). We heard loons there. Pick up a NFS road map when you pick up your permit.
