I know of the fire last year, but what damage did it cause around this entry and Gabbro and Bald Eagle and the river up to Lake One? Anyone been there this year?

I am looking for a good trip, other than Sawbill, to take a few old people who do not want to portage much or paddle big lakes, but who want some good fishing, nice scenery, and a base camp.

I will probably pick Sawbill, but what about this area or Brule--staying to the East end?

Other possibilities?

Thanks for any advice.
