Response to 2018 Maligne River Trip

Ricky,
I've done this route several times. Depending on the water level, the trip up the Maligne can be a challenge. Once you get through Tanner into Lower Sturgeon there are several short portages before the big lake. On occasion we have chose to line the canoes rather than portage when the current permits. Great fishing at the northern-eastern end of the Lake and a huge sandy beach on the south shore. As we aged we have chose to enter from the North via Stanton Bay and travel to and through the Sturgeon Narrows to our favorite campsite.
