Hi i was just wondering if anyone out there can give me some advice. Ive just taken on this 15.3hh welsh section d. he is a lovely cheeky chap but when i am lungeing he gets to cheeky. He will lunge on the left rain perfectly but as soon as i change his rein he turns in and changes back to the left rein. I have tried someone lunging me on him, i have tried lungeing with someone leading but he barges them out the way, i have had the back specialist to him (nothing), i've lunged in a bridle and many more but still he does it. HELP!!!!

try long reining and lunging with two reins this will give u more control and be postive in what u do. he can sense everything through the line. he has a favourite side and thats the left, he hates the right rein so start on the right rein and dont give in.

hello in response to your question i have a 16.2 who is very cheeky, he was 6yrs old when i got him and he'd had no schooling he was a nightmare it took three people just to lunge him in the end i waited till it was quite and went into the school on my own with him he kept running in so i tapped his shoulder with the lunge whip after a while he got the idea i just kept nagging him now he lunges fine.there no hopes of getting lines on him so i had no choice

howdy from Mass. if you attatch the line by puting it through the ring then run it over his head and clip it on the other side you'll have more control.

If you attatch your line to his halter by passing it through the side ring, run it over his head and clipping it to the ring on the opposite side you'll have more control.
