LOS ANGELES (Zap2it.com) - Judge Reinhold is filling some big shoes for his next project.
The 46-year-old actor will make his feature producing debut with an untitled Bigfoot hoax project, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
The story centers on a man based on Ray Wallace, a logger in the Pacific Northwest who created and perpetuated the Bigfoot myth.
His elaborate hoax, which lasted more than 40 years, involved stomping around in 16-foot carved wooden feet, doctoring photos and reporting false sightings of the beast. Shortly after his death in 2002, his family admitted to the deception.
"Initially, this was just a funny headline in The New York Times," explains Reinhold, "but the more we learned about Ray and the ingenious ways he captured people's imagination and manipulated mass media, we knew we had to tell his story."
Reinhold will take a supporting role in the project.
TLP Productions, the newly launched feature film production company by Reinhold, his wife Amy and Eric Geadelmann, will also produce the black comedy "One Stupid Thing" and the documentary "Ghosts in the Hills" about the Ku Klux Klan.
Reinhold last starred in "The Santa Clause 2: The Mrs. Clause." His upcoming "The Hollow" and "Crab Orchard" will most likely be released some time next year.
