i was thinking of that john but then i thought "that's a stupid quote." I mean he doesn't like people breaking bords cos they don't hit back but neither do punching bags or wooden dummies so why doesn't he hate them too?
I am under the impression that what Bruce Lee may have meant with the "quote"..."Boards don't hit back" was that having the ability to break a board does in no way signify that you have any fighting prowness. Yes, it is true that Heavy bags don't hit back either, and I would say that the quote applies to the bag just as well. Lets give it a shot..."Bags don't hit back"...Yeah, sounds good to me!
See what I mean? Taken in that context, hitting any 'dead' object is in no way an indicator of your ability to fight.
Oh, one more thing (edited in)...we all do realize that the whole "Boards" thing was just a line from a movie...right?

Chris, I'd love to tell you all about star wars galaxies, but there is this nasty little thing called an NDA. Basically it says if I say anything top secret about the game before it's publically announced by Lucas Arts or Sony, a Sith Lord will come and toss me around like a rag doll before asking me "Who's your daddy". Then I'll have to whine and yell "NNNNNNNNNNOOOOOOOooooooooooooooo, that's impossible..." then he'll say "yo check yo self bizatch, search your innards fool, you know it be straight up".
About the "Boards don't hit back" post, I think that this applies to the fact that since Bob Wll mentally thought that he could beat Bruce simply because he broke a board. However since it was just an attack on something, it proves nothing.
As for the punching bag part you can't prove that you can win a fight because you hit a punching bag really hard. Make sense?

Nice quote! Don't worry about the super-nerd thing. Being Canadian, I didn't know who Calvin Coolidge is/was off the top of my head, so I had to look it up. So I guess that makes me a "super-nerd wannabe". Remember I'm the guy who posted two Star Wars quotes.
