Food for fitness well. You burn carbohydrates when you train. So eat carbs. You need protein to build muscle (not meaning you want more muscle bulk, but inevitable you body will develop muscles in places you never knew you had) so eat protein. Eat when you are hungry, but do not stuff yourself. Eat a balnced diet, but dont get to crazy about how balanced it is, just eat. And exercise.

Thats really how simple it is. All these other methods of dieting, is really just pompous crap. Of course you want to put on weight, eat more. If you want to loose weight, eat less excercise more. Simple.

Your diet will not improve your flexibilty unless you are a fat slob, which point loose weight. Flexibility comes from appropriate execises. Take a look at yoga if you want to improve flexibilty.

In order to diet correctly first you need to sweat, then you have to bleed , and then you have to, pay the price WOOOOOOO! (Rick Flair) or is that a grudge match instead of dieting?

If you would like to know the healthiest and best foods to eat to help your training, then here you go.

1. All fresh fruit and fresh or lightly steamed vegetables. Fresh produce should make up 50% of your diet. This is where you get most of your natural vitamins and minerals aside from popping a centrum. The healthiest fruit(s) in the world is cantaloupe and blueberries. Cantaloupe has the highest beta-carotene level in the fruit world and blueberries has the highest anti-oxidant level. The only produce I would not eat at all is iceburg lettuce since that contains no nutritional value whatsoever.

2. Drink plenty of pure water. 8 glasses a day is average.

3. For carbs, go for potatoes (white and sweet, although sweet potatoes are the healthiest vegetable on the planet because of their over-abundance in beta-carotene.) If you are going to eat any breads, cereals, or flour, try to make it whole wheat or whole grain. Whole wheat and whole grain still retain their natural germ and vitamins/fiber. Brown rice and pasta over white rice and pasta for the same reasons.

4. For protein, try to stay away from red meat. Eat it only once a week if possible. And when you do, eat lean cuts like 95 or 97 percent lean. Most red meats are fatty and loaded up with hormones. The best protein sources are grilled, skinless chicken and turkey breasts. Grilled or cooked skinless fish, egg whites, skim milk, fat free cheese, and even whole wheat bread contains some protein. Nuts such as peanuts have protein but they are high in fat.

5. The best fats (believe it or not, your body needs some and like everything else, there is good and bad fat). Good fats come from fish, seeds, and nuts. Bad fat comes from practically everything else like hot dogs, pizza, french fries, resturant hamburgers, milkshakes, chicken wings, etc..

6. If you want to drink fruit juice, the best way is to get it straight from the fruit. Buy a juicer and juice your veges and fruits. No lie. It's better than anything store bought. All those bottled and cartoned juices are steralized and have added vitamins they put in. Preservatives to keep it fresh.

Hope this helps.

Alot of the vitamin content in fruit and vegitables is in the peeling except for orange peeling which is bad to eat. So get a juicer machine and drink some carot apple juice.

You are correct that most of the nourishment in produce is in the peel. However what you said about oranges is only partially true. The outside skin (the orange colored part) should not be consumed because it contains an oil that is indigestable to the human body. For that reason you should not consume it. However, if you take a potatoe peeler and peel off just the surface skin so you still have the white peel right underneath, that has the most vitamins and can be, and should be consumed along with the rest of the fruit. The white part contains 95 percent of the food value as well as enzymes and zinc to help digest the flesh part of the orange. In all produce you can eat the skin when you juice it. The only ones that are exceptions are the citris fruits like oranges, grapefruits, and tangerines. Those have to be peeled with a potatoe peeler and eaten or juiced with the white peel underneath.

I do not practice JKD, but have the same problem as my teacher has gone back to Malaysia where he is from. He may be back in the next year or so. This time without my teacher has been good for me as it has forced me to teach myself more and be able to stand alone as a martial artist.

To the reference about eating orange peel. Well actually I love useing it in cooking, the entire peel. It is something my mum used to do and many others in asia. I do not eat it raw but instead like to cook it with fish as part of the sauce, its very good especially if you have a cold (add a little bit of spice), in fact I think I will have some now. MMMmmm, orange peel. lol.
