what's up all,
did anybody see that video clip of that 400lb guy trying to pass one of the sbg instructors guard on bullshido? it was hillarious. i guess the sbg guy was about 180 and this guy djimbe was about 400lbs. big D tried to pass the guard multiple times but couldn't do it. you could barely even see the sbg guy under this mass of humanity, but you could also see that that mass of humanity wasn't going anywhere.
they then reversed roles and the sbg instructor was in the position of passing big D's guard. he did pass his guard a few times and got in a side mount fairly easily. if i had to guess, it took him about 3 secs.
i do feel that it would be interesting to see them begin in the clinch, but i feel the result would be very similar. check it out at bullshido.net it's some pretty funny viewing.

Did "Luis" tap?

December 11 2003, 5:11 PM

Hello Tim,

Ok, maybe I'm a complete idiot, but did I not see Luis (the SBG guy) slap Djimbe on the shoulder in which case Djimbe got up? Is that not a "tap"? Please enlighten me here.

Regards,

John M. Drake

On second thought....

As I see "Djimbe" moving away he's holding his stomach. I recall in that long and tiresome thread on "bullshido" something about Djimbe telling Luis that he had to go to the crapper? Could this be that moment?

Regards,

John M. Drake

If SBG is so confident in it's methods, why didn't they start standing up? (If it wasn't just a drill but a test as they claim it wasn't).

You answered that yourself. It was just "rolling" and is done that way all the time when isolating that game. They weren't doing vale tudo sparring.
