A question to Jack (focusing power to one point)

Hello Jack, you wrote:

"Have you ever broken the bottom of a glass bottle, by hitting the top without damaging the top. This is being able to focus your chi at a higher level. These levels go up further and further and is most certainly not anything to do with body mechanics, although some chi can still be expressed like this."

How do you train for this(or know how others train for this) I am interested in this not because I want to break bottles, but because to be able to do this would have some good benefits.

Hi Wasim(Muslim name, so I assume you are a muslim) so asallamu alaikum. Anyway to answer your question, there are several ways to acheive focusing of power like this.

The one you are most likely to have heared of and most likely be able to find a teacher to train this is in Iron Palm kung Fu, if you are lucky Red Palm Kung Fu, but it is very rare to find the latter. These are what are known (in the chi kung world) as external to internal, whereby you condition your hands as well as practice basic chi kung. I am not an expert in this particular type of training.

The other way is to do what I said in the Chi kung post you got the quote from (this is internal to internal). Do not aim to learn how to break the bottle or even develop great chi powers, this will cloud you mind. In the pursuit of chi one has to have an unclouded mind. So just do the chi kung exercises, everywhere and at anytime you can. You will first feel magnetic like energy around your palms. This generally moves up through your body untill you can feel it all around. Eventually you will be able to create the magnetic field without the exercises. This is basic of the basic level.

Note: you must make sure you are physically fit as well, chi does not run well through weak vessels. You will shake where your chi exudes if you are weak.

When you are ready for the next step you will know. Ask me again then. But rememmber try not to force anything to happen, listen first.

Waaleikum salaam, Jack

Yes, I have a muslim name, but "It´s just a name" I´m actually christian

I can already get the energy to my hands, arms and upperbody, not to the legs though. So if I just do the chi kung plus punching and kicking I will develop this power?

I don´t think that I´ll find any Iron Palm instructors here in my country or Red Palm

Ok that is good, however I would suggest that for a while you try to to get caugth up with trying to use chi in combat. Obviously because I am not with you I can not tell exactly what your level is, but it sounds like you are not yet ready to use chi in combat.

By this I mean that your chi has not been built up enough to start focusing it or projecting it in combat. The best advice I was given was to practice Chi Kung as a health exercise. First learn to heal yourself next is combat. So practice the exercise I stated in a previous post.

It is frustrating that I can not actually tell you the other exercises which will help you develop chi faster but I can only show you as is dificult to describe properly. If you start feeling other symptoms when you do your chi kung tell me.

Sorry could not be more help now.

P.S what country are you from?

"So practice the exercise I stated in a previous post."
What exercise?

No need to apologise, I understand that it is nearly impossible to teach someone about chi kung with just by writing to them

evn though the question was to Jax, i reckon i can help you little. Since you're interested so much about internel energies, A year back i bought a few Ebooks about Internal energy, Qui gong etc. To me They seemed very interesting and informative. I remember there were some training mentiond as well. I could have sent you, but your hotmail account wouldnt accept such large attatchments.about 2 mbs or more.

Anyway.. check out, www.karatebreaking.com/contact.html.. and
www.ironpalm.com
might interest you.

Hey wasim, may i know where you're from, your age, and your MA experience? Just curious.

Goodday.

The karate breaking website is an interesting one although as far as I read they were not teaching how to focus chi. There is some info on Iron Palm training there, but again this is external to internal, where by you physically induse chi as appose to mentally.

I do not know what the books are that you have E. D but personally I have yet to read one that does not spout bull**** for ages. Here is a thumb rule, if the book is thick it is commercial. Chi Kung is actually very simple. Divided up into visualisation and breathing. This is then married with static positions, yoga like stances and movement (like Tai Chi). You only need to know a few of the latter stuff as you should then be able to guess the rest after all it is your body.

yea they were focused on physical energy than mental, but i dont think it opposes mental energy in any way.

I believe there is need for both mental and physical energy, and they must be combined in harmony to attain the fullest power. For ex. An unconditioned hand cannot hit, in no way, as hard as it would if it was conditioned in iron palm, iron fist, or just conditioned by slamming on the heavy bag or wall(actually thats the way I condition). if you have hard hands, and use flowing energy(chi, qi, ki) to it, it works like amazingly,at least for me,like hell.

my view on chi. it is simply contracting those muscle fibres which are concentrated on, at the exact desired time, causing other later contracted muscle fibers to apply force behind it slowly as the contraction forces catches on. i realize behind every non telegraphic move there is, what you define as chi, existing. its nothing mystical. im not sure if its clearly expressed to be undertstood.

ABout the books. Nope they are not like those tai chi type books teaching breathing movements and all. I had some of those as well hardcovered books. i thought they were Bull****. these simply does some good explainations and some other stuffs. i might upload them later on. internet too slow now.

Thanks Jack and Exit Dragon

Well, as I said, I´m from Finland( a country between Russia and Sweden) and my race is half Finnish and half Pakistan. Im 18, and have been studying under myself for about three or four years, since I have not have had a chance to join any MA club.

I have been learning from books, videos, forums, articles, movies, you name it. I´m actually happy that I have not had a chance to join any MA club because I had to search what is useful for myself[add a Bruce Lee quote] and bla bla bla. Anyway, I learned to think with my own brain and not to rely on others in learning. But now I really would like to join a club and maybe I will because I will move to a bigger city next year and start maybe doing wing tsun.
