Len,

You don't need an open mind to read that rant, you need hard science skills. The guy is talking out of his ass, blatently preaching quackery disguised as rational thought. It's not always easy to tell the difference, but for someone like me, it's obvious to the point of being funny.

Notice he didn't cite sources for the scientific claims he made.

This is yet another Christian trying to justify his unfounded beliefs.

STOP BEING LED!!! DON'T BACK UP YOUR BELIEFS WITH SOMEONE ELSE'S DRIVEL. FIND OUT ON YOUR OWN. DON'T BE LAZY. THAT FAR TOO COMMON!!!

Sheep are a dime a dozen; wolves are much harder to come by.

Descado - You have to lay off Len man. Not everything that exists can be proven scientifically. You should know this. There are tons of people in the world that believe in God. Just cause you can't make him appear and show him off to skeptics whenever I or anyone else would like, doesn't mean he doesn't exist. Yeah I heard the same old yawn argument. Prove it. Prove it. Prove it. You say spirituality is flawed simply cause people that believe in it can't back up it's claims. Well science is not fool-proof either and has been wrong on numerous occasions. You told Len in another post that why would he take something that is full of mistakes as something he would want to live his life by (aka the Bible). But science is manmade just like religion and makes mistakes all the time. The argument can run both ways. How would you like it if God showed up in your room tommorow and no one else but you seen it? And you know that you were not crazy, on drugs, dreaming, etc.. How would you go about telling others and having them believe you? By saying "Hey God, will you show up again and show my friends that you were here last time?" It doesn't work that way. And you would be in the same boat as him. It would be frusterating for you cause you know something happened but you can't reproduce it scientifically to prove it to others so you know how Len must feel if he's experienced things that others can't see the evidence to.

Science does not claim to be fool proof, religion does. Of course science has many mistakes, it is human. However the more we endeavour the more we iron out those mistakes. The thing about science is that it allows for such progression, where as religion does not.

I believe the literal meaning of science is to question. It is not the answer. Again opposite to religion. Science allows for and indeed is enriched by diversity in its disagreements. Religion is only deverse in its subjective intepretation of rigid text.

Wasim, it is not necessary to go to Israel and dig, to be able to construct evidence for or against religion. There are many sources out there that can be used, ready at hand. Hell the information super highway at your finger tips has shed loads of real resources, published by reputable institutions.

Question everything, Know nothing.

I think the debate: "is there a god or is there not a god" will lead nowhere. This same thing has been debated for thousands of years.

No-one could prove or disprove anything...and no-one ever will

Yawn The first lie recorded in the Bible "Ye shall not surely die". (The serpent to Eve).

Mike, for the record I'm not sure that the person who wrote that webpage considers himself "Christian". This from the same page:

=======================================================
However, modern day Christianity (based on the original Catholic ignorance) says different. And most of us, having coming from the Worldwide Church of God cult background have been indoctrinated with the same primordial rubbish. But, the scientific evidence offers a scenario that defines a soundness that is a lot different, provable, and liberating.
=======================================================

Be aetheist if you wish, but don't blame ALL quacks on us. Oh, this former WWCG member is also maintaining a WWCG "suicide watch" list on that same site. Can anybody say "creepy"?

As for the "scientific" merrit to their "energy can't be created or destroyed" argument for inherent immortality, if I pull apart my computer is it still "alive"? If I send it through a car crusher and even melt it down then none of the "atoms" have been destroyed. But what chance do I have to get to the "memory"? Now I personally believe a human can be "resurected" just like I believe a computer can be "rebuilt". Heck that isn't completely out of the realm of scientific thought anyway. Clone me and re-wire all of my "wetware" exactly as it was at the point of death and...well is it ME or is it Memorex? (You have to be over 30 to get that joke).

Regards,

John M. Drake

If anybody is interested in knowing about how all matter may be made of enegry that is constantly vibrating (I say may because this is in no way proven yet) look into something called String Theory, I think its interesting and anyone interested in physics or science might. It has nothing to do with religion though.
