pffft!!!!! Kill bill sucked!!!! COUGH!!!!! COUGH!!!!! Uhuhmm!!!! COUGH!!!! COUGH!!!!!!
That seriously was one of th worst movies i've ever seen. I knew it would be thats why I never went to the theatres to watch it, Those types of moives I wait till they come out on video to watch so when I know it sucks i only waste $2.99 vs. $8+ the junk and the old lady which then in turns costs $20+ I was so right, that movie was so bad, I couldnt watch it past the part where the silly japanese anime O-Renishii watched her parents die....how cheesy....defenitly wont be a kill bill part 2 for me....I took the dvd back to the video store and told the counter guy how bad I thought the movie sucked and he gave me credit for a free movie on my next visit....hahahaha
Ha, fine I doubt I would of waited the 24 hours or whatever it took for it to download....my computer don't support that type of programming although if I wanted to I could of got it done im sure.
I just caught wind from someone who truley enjoyed Kill Bill Vol 1. That Part 2 sucked major ass.......so Im saying that if I didnt like the first one, I know I wouldn't like the 2nd one either........but hey everyone has their own taste and likes....
Im just voicing my opinion......enjoy it for those that enjoy that stuff.....
This post is largely a spoiler so if you don't want to know what happens in the movie before you see it don't read on. For those of you have already seen the movie know that it starts out boring and depressing. Sometimes in the movie you go back in the past like the wedding chapel and even before that like the time she was learning Kung fu which was one of the better parts in the movie. One of the more interesting thing about this movie was the topic of the guilt of an assasin, and one of the best things about this movie is the creative story line. If you don't count her Kung fu training and her ending fight with Bill there is only one fight in the movie with darryl hana so this movie is not as action pact as the first one or as good. Ema turman is the best actress out there right now. You get the feeling she is not acting at all but is. Another thing is there might be a kill bill 3 only because when they run the credits at the end of the movie the assasin California rattle snake instead of having her name Xed out had a ? by it. Please if your not mature enough to remark maturly on the movie don't.
So basically what your telling us, is K. B. II sucked even worse than the first one? I would like to respond and try to be as mature and polite as I possibly can, so if I come off somewhat biased or errogant I appologize its not my intentions to do so.
However, I have quite a hard time agreeing that Uma Thurman is the best female actress out there. From watching the first KB it did look as if she had some hollywood training, but nonethless her form was noticiably flawed in many stages. If I were to put another female from that movie that was better I'd say Lucy Liu had more form within her movements down than Ms. Thurman. Upon the fact that it was written that Uma had to kill Lucy ie. O-Ren Ishii i'd doubt it would play out like that for real.
Opinions are just that one's own interpretation and I respect yours however, I just don't think that Uma has what it took to stand out and that is mine. Hell Vivica Fox for that matter surprised me with the opening scene of the knife fight, her movments were very impressive but still not considerably the best.
btw thanks for the eval of Kill Bill II. I know for sure I won't waste my time in the theatre I can never get the 2 hours or so that I waste in that theatre back.....so it doesn't seem feesable....
Man, I don't know what is expected from these movies by some of you, but when I went to see them, I got exactly what I was expecting and maybe even more! I thought that Uma Thurman did a FANTASTIC job in these films! Her martial arts abilities were very convincing, especially considering that she has never been known for martial arts skills!
As far as I am concerned "Kill Bill, Volume 1" ROCKED! I bet I have watched it twenty times! I was at WalMart at one minute after midnight to get the first one out of the box on the release date, even though I already had the DVD screener and the Japanese release of the film on DVD. I went straight home and watched it AGAIN!
I would have to say that I liked Volume 1 better than Volume 2, though. If Volume 1 was a 10, I would have to give Volume 2 an 8 or an 8.5, but this is simply because there was less action in Volume 2. They spent more time developing and explaining the plot, which was good!
I think that some of you guys are expecting way too much from these movies! You have to look at something for what it is. In this case, Quentin Tarantino was trying to capture the atmosphere of the early seventies kung fu films, which he did quite well! Some of you need to learn to just relax and enjoy a film, rather than expecting everyone in the film to have achieved "master status" with their martial arts skills! As for the Lucy Liu/Uma Thurman battle, my money would be on Uma 10 to 1 any day! And thats after watching the film twenty-something times!
As for Volume 2, I'll be at WalMart at midnight on it's release date as well, waiting to get the first one out of the box! Then I'm going to go home and watch them both, BACK TO BACK! Chill out guys and get some of the starch out of your drawers! LOL

Thanks for your enlightened response Lamar. However, I just am not a big fan of Martial Arts movies.. i know, i know your thinking "how on Gods green earth can a Martial Artist not enjoy Martial Arts flicks?" Well, Its not that I don't watch them, I just can't enjoy them, I like some of the later Jackie Chan flicks ie. Big Brawl, and of his newest ones I only liked Rush Hour 1 and 2 and the one where he was a cowboy w/ the funny guy....those are pretty cool...they break the manatony of the serious martial art wannabe movies......like the Jet Li movies I just can't dig at all.....
I somewhat can get into a Few of Steven Segals flicks every now and again...but thats pretty much the extent. Now as far as Kill Bill goes I think as for me, since i don't really care for Terantino and call me weird I just don't like his movies...hell maybe i have something personal against him and I just can't admit it I dont' know....but I just found Kill Bill very :stupid: for lack of a better word... I enjoy a good movie as the next guy....but growing up when Kung Fu theatre was on and all that just didnt rate well with me at all....bout like the NInja craze in the 80's w/ Sho Kosugi, and the Michael Dudikoff crap American Ninja jazz....just really whack in my opinion.....as far as a decent movie Ijust watched here recently I enjoyed was the ROCK in "Rundown" that was pretty good movie..had comedy, and action...of course that was way far fetched it was still action packed for me...But thats about as far as I go...im more of a traditional movie watcher I like the ones that tell good stories and don't insult your intelligence...
I've tried to set down and watch and enjoy movies like Kill Bill and Crouchin Tiger hidden Dragon, and the Chow Yung Fat, Chuck Norris Walker Texas Ranger, and Bruce Lee and stuff of that nature it just does not hold my interest that long. Movies like "the hunted", "the Missing", "open Range", "Rundown", "Swat", most movies that are not Related to Martial Arts in a sense usually are watchable and I enjoy.
But I do try, to enjoy them i seriously tried to give Kill Bill a chance, I really wanted it to be good but I just couldnt get into it....too much fake blood and crap like her killing 1000 samurai in the dance hall...and that damn Japanese band god aweful...hahaha, all I can hear is ooo ooo , ooo ooooo. I remember alot of movies from that time period and I don't recall them being that silly....but who knows.....maybe i lead a shelterd life or just was mislead....
anyway all of you enjoy KB II. Im sure just for he hell of it, I'll rent it when it's released mostly just because I did watch vol.I so I guess it would only make sense to watch VOl.II but im a cheap skate and I can wait till its released on DVD.
I'm not into Kill Bill either. Just about every martial arts film nowadays is utter crap.
The only martial arts films I like are probably bruce lee and jackie chan, and a few from jean claude van dame
I'm just sick of all these "wire-fu" things where everyone is on wires. The Matrix rocked but after that every movie and series copied the whole "wire fighting". I mean seriously, I've seen people running across walls a million times.
It's just boring watching movies where they need to use computers to do the fighting since the actor can't even kick above their head. Watching some average joe trying to move fast when they obvioiusly can't is annoying.
Kill bill was too repetitive, just slashing randomly and hose blood.
I mean with bruce lee and jackie chan, it's REAL martial artists that can MOVE FAST, doing things that are actually impressive.
Quentin Tarantino is my favotite director. He has a unique style and dose cool things with music. While KB had some exaggerated parts in it for the most part the fighting scences were top knotch.
Well with that said... I didn't go see "Kill Bill" because it looked like a chick flick. I don't mean it's like "Waiting to Exhale" or "How Stella Got her Groove Back". I only meant the fact that it stars mainly female characters doing martial arts. It brings back bad memories of horrid flicks starring Cynthia Rothrock or the laughable MA scenes in "Charlie's Angels". So I didn't want to take the risk and go see the movie in the theatre. In all fairness, I did like Carrie-Anne Moss' performance in "The Matrix" as well as Michelle Yeoh and Zhang Ziyi in "Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon". So while I don't have much faith in "Kill Bill" appealing to my tastes, I may just wait till they're both out on DVD and add them to my MA DVD collection. I'll hold off any further judgement till then.
Hey, I hope you didn't make your decision on not going to see Kill Bill because of my post. I dont want those that like these types of movies or whatever, to miss out on seeing a movie because of my personal taste or opinions...one thing I normally never do is try to persuade others to follow me or my way. Everyone has their own opinions and flavor of things. KB just doesnt appeal to me.....All Im saying is, if you dont' go and see KB II because you don't "think" you'll like it, then don't go...but if you think you'll like it and thats your thing then by all means head out and watch it....I was just giving my 2 cents worth.....I've seen movies that others did not like that I thought was good.
My biggest problem is Im a cheap SOB so I don't go to the Movie Theatre and spend the high prices on a movie then walk out of there disapointed its happened to me one too many times. Anymore I just wait till they are DVD released. Or i'll go to the Dollar Cinema when they hit there and watch em....but thats not very often either.....I just don't like theatre to many idiots and you can't enjoy the movie anyway..everyone talkng or the seating is uncomfortable just not my scene never has been....
Have a great one....I'd rather be training.....which is where im going now.....to the gym for an hour work out and go to class...
I totally agree with you on movie theatres. You have to deal with the high price of tickets, snacks, crowds, long lines, uncomfortable chairs etc. The movie has to be absolutely amazing in order to enjoy it. With rentals you can watch the film in the comfort of your own home and at a reasonable price. The movie only has to be good to be enjoyable. If one waits for cable the movie can be fair and one still can get enjoyment out of it because one didn't spend a dime on it (other than monthly cable fees).
Personally I don't rent movies I just buy the DVD's or wait for cable. On DVD they have to be pretty good to enjoy it because of the high price ($20-$25) but one gets a ton of extra's. I usually read a few reviews on-line before making a purchase. With MA movies, I don't mind if they're just fair because I'm building up my MA DVD collection. So the more the merrier.
This is why I always go to matinees! The ticket cost is only $5.50, and seats are usually plentiful! I enjoy the sound system and the big screen! Then, if the movie is good, I buy the DVD when it comes out! If not, I only spent $5.50, and I don't buy the DVD!
I like all kinds of movies. Saturday afternoon I went to see "The Punisher". GREAT action film! Sunday afternoon I saw "Kill Bill, Volume 2". This afternoon, I went to see "The Passion of The Christ", which is an unbelievable experience that ONLY the big screen can do justice to! Now I'm waiting on May 7th for "Van Helsing" and July 2nd for "Spiderman 2"!

I don't always hate going to the movies. You do get to watch films on a big screen with good sound quality. I think one of the best movie that I really enjoyed seeing more on the big screen was the first "Jurassic Park". It was absolutely amazing. It was an experience that one appreciates more on a big screen. I guess the next best thing would be watching films on a plasma tv with a good surround sound system. I have neither. Yet, unless it's a film that I am truly dieing to see, I usually wait for the DVD. The last film I went to see in the theatre was "Cradle to the Grave" with Jet Li and DMX. It was a dissapointment but I still bought the DVD afterwards to add to my Jet Li DVD collection (21 dvd's and counting). What can I say, I love dvd's.
How is the Punisher? I used to read the comic books of Frank Castle when I was younger. I think I would like The Punisher. I may catch that one some time if and when it makes it to the local Dollar Cinema.
Van Helsing, that one is about the Warewolf right? Hmmm, that may be a decent movie. I havnt' seen a good wolfman movie in a while...
Warewolf in London was kinda the last one I think I seen....
"The Punisher" is an awesome action flick! Thomas Jane does a great job as the punisher, and as always, John Travolta makes an excellent bad guy! Some martial arts, but mostly shooting and things blowing up! Well worth going to seeon the big screen!
"Van Helsing" is not just a wolfman movie! It has Hugh Jackman going up aganst Dracula, Frankenstein and the Wolfman! I saw the extended preview the other day and it was awesome! The special effects are incredible! Another DEFINITE big screen film!
Cool, the Punisher seems like it will be a great movie, as does Van Helsing.... Speaking of Movies.......Have you or anyone seen "the Last Samurai"? I have a pretty good feeling about this one. I think it will be a good flick...it should be coming out on DVD pretty soon....May 7th I think.....I could be wrong...but its next month I sure.
I may go see "The Punisher" in the movie theatre. A few of my friends want to go. As cheesy as the "Punisher" starring Dolph Lundgren was, I really enjoyed it. So I'll probably get a kick out of this one. The one movie that really looks good (from the trailers) is "Van Helsing". I may see that one as well when it is released. Not sure yet. Perhaps I'll take a page out of Sifu Lamar's book and go to the matinee.
I haven't seen "The Last Samurai". I figured it was probably like "The Last of the Mohicans" but instead of Native Americans you have Japanese Samurai's. I've never been a fan of samurai swordfighting flicks. I prefers movies that have more unarmed hand to hand combat.
This "Punisher" is ten times better than the Dolph Lungren version! As for "The Last Samurai", I went to see it not knowing what to expect, and came away THOROUGHLY impressed! It has a great story, and the acting is excellent! Watch for the scene where the ninja come and try to take out the samurai warlord! AWESOME STUFF! Overall, the film is very realistic and the acting is great! I will definitely be making that DVD purchase on May 4th!
On May 18th "Paycheck" (Ben Afleck and Uma Thurman) and the 30th Anniversary 2 Disc Box Set of "Enter The Dragon" are being released on DVD. "Paycheck", despite what some may have thought about it, was quite an entertaining flick! Good story, great action and some pretty good special effects! That's two that will definitely be coming home with me on the 18th!
On May 25th, a special uncut 2 disc special edition of "Underworld" will be released, with tons of footage that was left out of the theatrical release! That is a MUST HAVE! On that same day, "Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King" will be released! Great month for DVD's next month!
quentin terantino ROCKS , no matter what anybody says, he is one of the few talented persons out there that actually entertain our minds with something new and not just the same old hollywood puke we are been fed since the dayz we discovered television...... the punisher , well thats something old, becoming a movie which is cool, but terantino rocks, and for those who didnt like it , well maybe u shoulg go watch forest gump, or something like that, obviousle new cinema, for this rocking generation is not for u, i mean man look at terantino, dude, Uma, is wearing master bruce lee's outfit, how bad ass is that? and then the connection of pulp fiction with the movie!! thats awesome!!!!!!! quentin , i love u, kisses from good ol'Austin texas
Is 'The Last Samurai' similar to 'Dances With Wolves'? I'm not too sure if 'Van Helsing' will do that well, it's not far enough removed from X-men is it?
HAHAHAHAHAHA " master Bruce Lee " hahahha since when did Bruce Lee become a Master? I dont think he ever held that title or would of ever of wanted to be called Master. And for Uma Thurman wearing the whole Yellow Jumpsuit, sure it was meant to replicate the one of Lee in his most horrible movie ever "game of death", but she obviously didnt have his moves. I still think Terantino makes you feel like he's on Crack when he's making these movies and it makes you feel like you need to be on Crack to watch them. Look at movies like "From dusk till dawn" He doesnt even think he's gonna finish another one of those, "Jackie Brown" based off the 70's movie Jackie Brown it was about like the old "punisher w/ Dolph Lundgren" poorly put together, "Natural Born Killers" hahaha enough said dumbest movie ever. "Reservoir Dogs" ahh I'd rate it as probably his best movie I actually could watch that one. "Pulp Fiction" for what its worth and since that movie was meant to be twisted and bent out of shape and to confuse the mind I'll give it as a somewhat decent flick....but unless he comes out w/ something of the Reservoir Dog / Pulp Fiction mix he'll always suck w/ movies like Kill Bill, and such.....
