Huh? This thread is a joke right? Here in Nashville I know of at least two places where I can buy bananas at 25 cent a pound! (That's about 4 bananas).
hey, i got a tip-
it's been recently proven that banana's don't actually grow in supermarkets, they have seeds and stuff, and you can grow them yourself, as many as you want, for around 0 cents! hurry, while stocks last!
(subject to terms and status, batteries not included)
Actually Bannana's do not have seeds. Have you ever bitten into one and found a seed? It is a fruit without seed. Banana trees are clones of each other. Yes you do have variants but this is not do to the usual variation caused by sexual reproduction i.e. formation of fertile seed. The new plant buds off the old banana tree and thus more banana trees grow.
You know another kinda strange fact is that a Tomatoes closest relative (apart from another tomatoe) is the potato. Would not have guessed it just by looking at it, huh. Genetic data show that they are more closely related to each other than any other plant species.
Whilst where on the subject of plants. Did you know that not all plants are photosynthetic? Some are parasitic, by this I mean they suck the fluid out of other plants. Thats crazy man.
There are also canivorous plants in bornea that have been reported to have trapped small dear. These are very large traps. My favourite carnivorous plant has got to be the Drosera Capensis (S.Afican Sundew), because it looks completely useless as a flycatcher, but is one of the most efficient insectivouros plants in the world. The Dianea (Venus fly trap) looks deadly but is comparitively crap at catching insects. Holds some nice anologies to martial arts aye (bet you did not think I could link this post to MA).
haha, very good!
though babanas do have small black dots in them sometimes in the middle, maybe those are something.
man, i think carnivorous plants are inhabited by spirits or something, i mean i used to go by a tree that apparently moves 20 foot a month, it was the most evil looking tree ever. im sure it was 'alive', like with a soul or something.
but wow... paracitic plants.. what next!?
telepathic ants??
