I'm moving back to my old home, Portland, Oregon, this summer and I figure as it is a bigger city than my current place (Santa Barbara, Ca) it might have a JKD place.
However, in my research online and in the old phonebooks I have from when I lived there a few years ago, I can find no reference to a JKD studio. Does anyone know of any there?
While I have little objection to more traditional Wushu training, which is what I've done on and off for four years since I was 12, I've learned through my unfortunate fights with the cholos (Mexican gangsters) at my high school and in the city itself, that while knowing Shaolin Eagle Claw is useful and puts me at an advantage against most of my adversaries, the level of difference that favors me is relatively small. I've heard from one of my friends who is learning JKD in Seattle that JKD is very practical and efficient and as such I wish to learn it.
If anyone knows a place in Portland or the immediate surrounding area, please let me know!
